New Disney Park Merchandise For 2015

The Disney Parks Blog offered a sneak peek of some new merchandise scheduled for release this year. Jessica Rabbit isn't the only redhead to garner some acclaim. In 2015 Disney Parks is focusing some attention on The Redhead from Pirates of the Caribbean (nicknamed Scarlett). After the success of their Haunted Mansion merchandise projects, The Disney Design Group is working on new merchandise to include more of the Pirates - and the famous redhead.

There is a lot of buzz surrounding the Disney Attractionistas concept. The dolls are inspired by attractions found around Disney Parks. The artwork is by the Disney Design Group's Mike Sullivan and shows two dolls to be in the upcoming line - the Mad Tea Party and The Haunted Mansion. The series seems to be similar to Monster High, however it's garnering a lot of excitement from Disney Park enthusiasts.

The shoes take inspiration from the character it's based on - and this one is so over-the-top toony and cheeky it can belong only to Jessica. Take an up close look at this ornament and get an extra peek at a new infamous Christmas Leg !

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #70 - Jessica's Long Board Surf Shack Mug

It's been many years since the debut of Jessica's in her Hawaiian outfit. In 2003 a pin was released with Jessica in front of a large surf board and clad in a bikini top and grass skirt. This image later made its way to a t-shirt, a hat, a button-down shirt, a framed print and a beach towel. Take a look at the newest beach-going Jessica merchandise - the Surf Shack Mug.

Flashback Friday - The Smallest Jessica Rabbit Figure

Not all Jessica Rabbit statues are big, tall, expensive pieces that you have to handle with white gloves. In the early 2000's Disney started to release small mini-figures of just about every character you could imagine. These tiny figures were similar to Disneykins which had been made in the 1960's. Take a look at this teeny Jessica:

Now Available - Jessica Rabbit Shoe Ornament

At long last Disney has created a Jessica Rabbit Shoe Christmas Ornament, which would appear to be part of their Runway Shoe Ornament Collection. The shoe ornaments and ear hat ornaments have become fairly popular, and are also made into pins. This shoe was found in Disneyland and has all the similar details as the shoe ornaments from previous years. The Jessica shoe ornament features glitter (which matches the color of Jessica's dress) on the toe box and counter, a pink heart on the topline with Jessica's signature, light purple sides (matching her gloves), a tan insole (Jessica's skin color), orange in the upper lining (matching her hair color), a Jessica Rabbit leg-shaped heel, and purple film strips serving as shoe straps. It's worth mentioning that while the signature is very close to Jessica's original one from her store, it is actually Jessica's park autograph from when she did the meet-and-greet during the Disney Dreamers Everywhere event. The other shoes in the series also have the park version of the characters signatures on the shoe arch. Take an up-close look at some more details.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #68 - Jessica's Custom Speedshop Hat

Back in early 2012, a brand new Jessica Rabbit shirt had been released, showing her riding a motorcycle and showing off a lot of curves. Though the image of Jessica was new, the shirt quality (a very thin material which was even stamped with a "Hanes" logo inside) was extremely disappointing at its price point. In summer of 2013, a hat was released with the same image from the t-shirt. Is the quality better than its shirt counterpart? Find out !!

Roger And Jessica Rabbit Merchandise From Japan

It's the stuff Jessica Rabbit Dreams are made of to see a display like this in any Disney park. Jessica had quite a run during 2006-2007 in the US, Paris and also Tokyo. A wide variety of Jessica Rabbit merchandise was released in Tokyo Disneyland at that time, such as notepads, folders, pens, pencils, business card holders and metal bookmarks. This lot is very hard to find now, but was the first of it's kind in a very long time. Not since the release of Who Framed Roger Rabbit in 1988 and the days of the Jessica Rabbit store has there been as big of a display of her merchandise all together, especially pens and paper.

The selection was quite interesting, with most of the merchandise printed with or on a shiny material. There were also glitter filled elements such as the hanging charms on the metal bookmark, pens and mechanical pencils. Though the art is of familiar poses, all of it looks to be re-drawn or updated, giving us some slightly new art of her.

Take Jessica Rabbit on the go - to keep track of your most important dates and affairs. In 2010 the Strapya company in Japan released a series of calendar datebooks with characters like Alice in Wonderland, Chip and Dale, and Jessica Rabbit. She was certainly an interesting selection to mix in with those other characters, but definitely had a market. It appears there might have been two different variations in design, one with Jessica's famous over-the-shoulder look and the second one being a close-up. Though both images are of poses we have seen before, much like the Tokyo Disneyland artwork, it looks like the art has been refreshed and updated a little. None of these Jessica datebooks have ever shown up on the second hand market, so it's hard to know if they were ever even released.

The last two items are of Benny the Cab's cousin, Lenny - and Roger himself! Roger Rabbit had not gotten as much love as Jessica in the merchandising department for a long time. Takara Tomy released a series of Beans dolls with an array of different Disney characters, which included Roger. There has not been a plush Roger doll in the US for some time. The last one before this was from Disneyland Paris which featured Roger covered in Jessica's kiss marks. The Lenny the Cab toy is made by Tomica and is an exact replica of the Car Toon Spin ride vehicle. It has actual wheels that work on the bottom, and the details all match those exactly from the ride - right down to the "Lenny" license plate. Both were released in 2013 and pop up on eBay occasionally. This is all a great grouping of merchandise for Who Framed Roger Rabbit - and is something we need to see more of in the US.

ImNotBad.com 2013 Year End Review

What a year this was for fans of Who Framed Roger Rabbit! The movie celebrated a special 25th Anniversary this year and proved that it's still a favorite after all that time has passed. In March, a Blu Ray version of Roger Rabbit was released, and although it was the same as the 15th Anniversary DVD, it still got a lot of attention from people who had not seen the movie in a long time. There were also airings of the movie on Cartoon Network and The Hub which had people buzzing on Twitter and showing their affection for the film.

The Victoria & Albert Museum in London showcased their exclusive Hollywood Costume Exhibition, featuring costumes from movies like Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz. Here it was discovered that costumer Joanna Johnston created a real dress for animators to use as reference on Jessica Rabbit's movements. The costume was not on display but there were scenes of Jessica playing on a screen in the exhibit.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit: A Toontown Reunion was an event held by The Academy in Beverly Hills, California. Special guests included cast and crew from the film. After a screening of the film, they all joined together on stage for a panel to discuss working on the project and what it took to get this movie to the big screen. Disneyland held it's own special screening, and the Making Roger Rabbit: 25th Anniversary screening and panel at Comic-Con was a big hit with a much more in depth panel discussion which included animators from the film and the voice of Roger Rabbit, Charles Fleischer.

In October, The Academy honored the animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Richard Williams , with his own special event and exhibit featuring an extensive catalog of art. Williams spoke to the audience in detail about his work on many different projects, including Roger Rabbit. The creator of The Simpsons, and stars from The Walking Dead were on hand to watch the artist discuss his work and celebrate his impressive career.

Who Wacked Roger Rabbit?, the third novel in the series by Gary K. Wolf, was released through Musa Publishing and featured cover art by Jacques Muller - an animator from the actual Roger Rabbit movie. This new eBook is the first Roger novel since 1991's Who P-P-P-Plugger Roger Rabbit?, the first novel being Who Censored Roger Rabbit?, which the movie is based on.

Certainly one of the most discussed happenings this year was Jessica Rabbit's Park Debut. Jessica appeared for the first time in a Disney park in Paris for the Disney Dreamers Everywhere event, which included special shows in every Disney park around the globe. While it was a huge surprise to see Roger, Eddie and Jessica included, many people weren't pleased with Jessica being a masked character, which lead to a bigger debate. Like it or not, this was at least one park appearance by Jessica, and even if there are changes made, people would like to see Jessica walking the parks in some form or another.

This year also marked my ten years of posting on Jessica Rabbit news. It's been a long time, but it all seemed to go by rather fast. The site reached over half a millon pageviews and there were more posts this year than ever. I also got around to making my first ever customized Jessica Rabbit dolls, which came out a lot better than I had anticipated. While the site was in full swing covering all the news, there was a very exclusive interview for ImNotBad.com with doll artist Robert Tonner, who gave us some great information on creating his Jessica Rabbit doll.

There wasn't any shortage of new Jessica Rabbit collectibles either. Britto announced their new Jessica bust which was released in the summer. Westland Giftware produced a series of Jessica Rabbit Cookie Jars and Salt and Pepper shakers. A Jessica's Speedshop hat was released. A new Sketchbook Ornament series was created by artist Steve Thompson, which included the first ever ornament of Jessica and Roger Rabbit together. The Jessica Rabbit Halloween pins saw a big comeback at the Disney Soda Fountain, and a year long calendar pin series kept Jessica popping up every month.

The D23 Convention was held this year and a Jessica and Roger Rabbit statue by Costa Alavezos was created as a 25th Anniversary piece. The convention also offered special items like a Jessica Rabbit Magnetic Bottle Opener, a painting by Manny Hernandez and a print of all the Disney redheads by Amy Mebberson.

The Disney Designer Collection was revealed to be a series of Fairytale Princesses this year, so while we don't have Designer Jessica Rabbit again, a new series of Pop! Figures by Funko was confirmed to include characters from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also to come is a Jessica Christmas ornament from Hallmark. So there's still some more fun stuff on the way, even after the big anniversary has passed. Thank you for visiting the site and I hope enjoy all the info, photos and Jessica Rabbit news. Stay Tooned!

Jessica Rabbit Christmas Gift List

Not sure what gift to get a Jessica Rabbit collector this year? Maybe you're still searching for something you've missed out on? Let's take a look at what's still available for this years Jessica Rabbit Gift List:

This year neo-pop artist Romero Britto added Jessica Rabbit to his catalog of Disney characters recreated in his bright, energetic style. Known for his use of bold colors, graffiti patterns and elements of cubism, Jessica joined the list of Disney characters recreated by Britto, such as the Little Mermaid, Tinker Bell and Mickey Mouse. This is a great piece at a very affordable price. The Jessica Rabbit Britto Bust is still available to buy from a few different locations, like WorldWideArt.com. To read my review of the Jessica Rabbit Britto Bust - CLICK HERE.

The first Jessica Rabbit ornament to be released in ten years (and the very first Christmas ornament to feature both Roger and Jessica together) is certainly one not to be passed on. All ornaments from the Sketchbook series had been on sale at lowering prices, and while this particular ornament is sold out from the Disney Store website, it might still be available to buy at your local Disney Store. Originally $12, they now sell for $7.77 each. To read my review of the Roger and Jessica Rabbit Sketchbook Ornament - CLICK HERE.

The wait was finally over not too long ago for the highly anticipated third novel in the Roger Rabbit series, Who Wacked Roger Rabbit? by Gary Wolf. It is and eBook with cover art by Jacques Muller (an actual animator from Who Framed Roger Rabbit) and it's available for $4.99 through Musa Publishing. Get your copy of this new eBook today! To read my review of the new Roger Rabbit novel - CLICK HERE.

This colorful artwork by Manny Hernandez, originally first seen at the D23 2013 Convention, is available to purchase online. Titled We're In This Together, it is unframed measuring 16" x 12" for $125 and depicts Roger and Jessica Rabbit from the climactic movie ending. While this is a higher end item, it's still available at a fairly decent price. The scene was originally animated by Jacques Muller, who recently gave us the cover and character art for the newly released Who Wacked Roger Rabbit? novel. You can buy this artwork by Manny Hernandez now from WordWideArt.com.

Titled, Drawn This Way, Jessica Rabbit by Jim Shore was revealed in January of 2012, and makes this years list again for Jessica Collectible Must-Haves. It can still easily be found online though the Jim Shore website for an extremely reasonable $55. When I first saw this, I was excited that Jessica was finally being added to this series, however it was almost a year after it's release that I decided to purchase it. I couldn't be more pleased with this statue, and I think fans of Jessica can really enjoy this piece. To read my review of the Jim Shore Jessica Rabbit Statue - CLICK HERE.

The Roger's Piano Bar and Night Club shirt is also another item that's been out a while, but still worth mentioning again. Both Roger AND Jessica are included on the back of this shirt. The shirt fabric is grey. The whole design is printed with a "distressed" look to make the shirt image appear older - so cracks and missing paint areas are normal to appear throughout. Jessica is playfully sitting atop a piano in her famous neon sign pose and the whole shirt is fantastic. It's available for $24.95 in two different styles, one which is marked Walt Disney World and the other marked Disneyland Resort. To read my review of the Roger's Piano Bar and Night Club shirt - CLICK HERE.

Are you shopping for the Jessica Rabbit collector who has everything?
