Flashback Friday - Jessica Rabbit Flexies Figure
Among the very first official Roger Rabbit merchandise released were bendable figures called Flexies - which included Roger, Eddie, Judge Doom, Jessica, Baby Herman and Boss Weasel. These, along with smaller figures, called Animates, are so far the only types of Roger Rabbit action figures to be produced. The Flexies were made of rubber with a wire inside so you can "pose" them in various positions. There was also a small bit of text on the back of the figure cards truly bringing out the "Who Done It" type mystery aspect of the movie.
"Zany film characters you can collect, bend and pose! The mystery continues! Was there a will... Who bumped off Acme... Who Framed Roger Rabbit... What part does Baby Herman play... Detective Eddie Valiant is on the case. Perhaps it was the evil Judge Doom and his Weasel companions... or maybe the ambitious, beautiful Jessica is behind it all... Re-enact all the action or create your own adventures with your Who Framed Roger Rabbit™ Flexies™: Collect Them All!"

Flashback Friday - Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
It's the 20th Anniversary of Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin - one of the zaniest, wackiest, tooniest rides ever in a Disney park! The ride was actually quite a challenge to finish, and had to be redesigned at the last minute. Car Toon Spin not only broke ground on being one of few modern "dark-light" rides to the Disneyland park, it also was placed in a section inspired by the Roger Rabbit movie - Toontown! Check out this this very informative interview with Car Toon Spin ride designer Marcelo Vignali, which was an exclusive to this site.

SofĂa Vergara Feels Like Jessica Rabbit
Star of Modern Family, SofĂa Vergara attended the 20th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards recently and showed off her stunning form in a tight, silver Donna Karan dress. The cast of Modern Family won for Outstanding Comedy Ensemble.
"I feel very sexy," she told E! News. "I feel very Jessica Rabbit, like an old Jessica Rabbit!" She doesn't looks so much like an old Jessica Rabbit as she looks downright stunningly gorgeous.
"I shouldn't complain, because I think it's ungrateful, but of course, I'm a woman," she admitted. "Now that I'm older, there's many parts that I complain about every day. But I don't say it because I don't want to sound ungrateful."
Vergara even turned around to the camera to show off the back of the dress, which was showing quite a lot. I think Jessica Rabbit would approve.

Flashback Friday - Jessica Rabbit Mattel Doll Designer Interview
When it comes to Jessica Rabbit dolls, there are very few to go around. Actually, there are only two so far ever created. The most recent is by Robert Tonner which was released in 2010. The first doll was released back in 1999 by Barbie's company Mattel. Back then, a photo was released of the Jessica Rabbit doll by Mattel, and as expect looked amazing! Then, not too long after, an updated photo replaced the first one and showed that the doll had been changed significantly. Why this happened was a big mystery until I contacted the designer of the Jessica Mattel doll herself. This exclusive interview with Jessica Rabbit Mattel Doll designer, Lisa Temming, uncovers the real reason the doll was changed, what other plans were supposed to be in store for the doll, the strong opinions Disney and Amblin had about Jessica, and the line of Jessica dolls that never happened. If you haven't read this interview yet, you can see never before seen photos of the original prototype and a special version she created:

Jessica Rabbit Art By Kengi
While on a trip to Downtown Disney, our correspondent, Andoni, spotted a Disney artist creating some cool Jessica Rabbit art at the Wonderground Gallery. Here you can see artist Kengi drawing our favorite toon in colored pencils. Vibrant red and purple are used to recreate the stunning form of Jessica, and you can see how amazing the piece looks framed too. It's always great to see the masters at work, creating colorful works of art with Jessica!

Disney Cruise Line Jessica Rabbit Shirt
A brand new Jessica Rabbit shirt has been released on the Disney Cruise Lines. I believe this is a first for a Jessica Disney Cruise shirt - and what a shirt it is. Earlier in the week it was reported there was a DCL pin coming soon, and that same great design has made its way to a shirt. A sailor-clad Jessica Rabbit is sitting on an anchor and showing a whole lot of leg. Her hat and the anchor have the Disney Cruise Line logo. "I'm not bad. I just CRUISE that way," is written around her in white. The art has a sort of pin-up style and also a slightly distressed look. The shirt material is blue. It's selling for around $24.95 on Disney Cruise ships. News of this fantastic release comes from Scott Sanders at the Disney Cruise Line Blog.

Flashback Friday - The Jessica Rabbit Store, Gone But Not Forgotten
The Jessica Rabbit Store, called Jessica's, was opened on December 15th 1990, according to the D23 Archives. I was fortunate enough to visit the store without even knowing it existed, now over 20 years ago. Back then, there was no internet to keep you informed on all the different happenings, news and such. Disney fan's had an especially hard time knowing much of what was going on in the parks, aside from random TV specials. Though Disney's MGM Studios had quite a lot of press at the time, the Jessica's store in Pleasure Island was a well kept secret. Also around this time, Disney began to focus on creating more "park-exclusive" merchandise which you wouldn't find anywhere else, making Jessica Rabbit one of the first modern Disney characters to house a shop of her own signature merchandise.
Before becoming the Jessica's store, the building housed the Island Depot from 1989 to 1990, which sold Pleasure Island memorabilia and assorted sundries. It then became the Dick Tracy store around the summer of 1990, selling merchandise from the film. The entrance sign was the Dick Tracy logo, and automobiles from the Dick Tracy film were located around the outside. There was even a large standee of Breathless Mahoney outside - much like that of Jessica Rabbit from the MGM Studios. The building then became Jessica's and was only open until some time in 1992. Though the article on the D23 website states it was shut down in February of 1993, the merchandise was not being sold in 1992 when I went for a second visit, so they maybe referring to when the large neon Jessica Rabbit sign was removed.
The Jessica sign was eventually relocated to another area of the park atop the West End Stage alongside a “Pleasure Island Tonight” sign, where it remained a popular visual for many years until the sign and entire stage were removed in June of 2006. The store building went on to become the Music Legends store, a tattoo parlor and in 2007 a smokers lounge called Fuego by Sosa Cigars. Sadly, even the entire building which once housed the store is now gone, as you can see blow from this photo taken in the Pleasure Island area in December 2013. The blank space in the middle would have been were the building once stood. Disney is now reworking this entire area.
