Could Designer Collection Wedding Dolls Be On The Way

A costume for a Designer Ariel wedding dress was recently spotted in a Disney Store. Does this mean a Wedding series of dolls might be on the way? It would be kind of unusual for a Designer Wedding costume to be released with no type of doll series to go with it. 2017 Designer Collection Release

The Disney Designer Collection for 2017 is scheduled to be available with some minor release date changes. The online and in-store release dates will be the same. Cruella 9/19, Rapunzel 10/03, Robin Hood 10/17, Moana 10/31, Ariel 11/14. The whole set is still available for pre-order online selling at $649.75 and limited to one full set of 5 per customer.

Toontown Cabbies March Magic Shirt

A new Roger Rabbit shirt was released as part of Disney's March Magic competition. Disney is looking for fans to crown a winner for the "Ultimate Disney Attraction" by voting through their Facebook Page. Voting will take place from March 14 through April 3. Artwork for the different teams has been created and is available through the Disney Store website as Limited Edition t-shirts and posters.

Pin Preview - Roger Rabbit Disney Store Anniversary

A new pin series will be released in celebration of the Disney Store's 30th Anniversary! Three pins be released in-store beginning on Saturday, January 28th (on-line Sunday, January 29th) with more pins released each following Saturday through April 1st. The pins will celebrate a year, with a movie character pin marking that time. In the first assortment we get a new Roger Rabbit pin celebrating 1988. Roger is coming out of a portable hole that is in a brick wall. All three pins are sold on one card, so you purchase all of them for $19.95. 2016 Designer Fairytale Collection Two Revealed

The extremely long awaited reveal of the Disney Designer Fairytale Collection Heroes vs. Villains Set Two happened this week, with four set this year instead of five. Last year we saw Snow White and The Witch, Elsa and Hans, Ariel and Ursula, Rapunzel and Mother Gothel and for the first time ever Peter Pan and Captain Hook. This year, as rumored, we have Belle and Gaston, Cinderella and Lady Tremaine, Aurora and Maleficent, and another first with Alice and The Queen of Hearts. The Beast And Gaston 17" Dolls Revealed

The next two dolls in the Beauty and the Beast Heirloom Collection have been revealed today. As it was heavily speculated with Belle in her "Something There" dress, The Beast is in his matching outfit. Gaston is wearing his fancy attire in which he tried to propose to Belle. The bigger surprise is that ALL three dolls will be available for pre-order at the same time.

New Belle 17 Inch Doll Revealed

The highly anticipate second edition of Belle to the Heirloom Collection has been revealed today. It was speculated that Belle would not be rereleased in her gold dress, making her pink dress seem to be the second best choice. It looks like that will be the version to be released this coming fall. Bell is in a variation of her pink winter outfit from the "Something There" musical number in the movie. Jessica Rabbit Pin Of The Week - Tombstone Pin Set Series

This is the very first Jessica Rabbit Halloween pin ever released - and not only that, but Jessica shares it with none other than Pluto. There were six sets released in this series - each with two pins.

Each couple was connected to a large resin tombstone between them. This was a first for Disney to get as imaginative as they did adding the tombstone - but it didn't end there. You can collect all of the sets and buy a separate display for them. All six of the sets could be placed in a slot on the slanted base for a fun graveyard diorama. The base had a haunted house background and came with a pin of Mickey Mouse dressed as The Big Bad Wolf. The display base sold separately for $39.95. So the whole thing would have cost over $130 - which is actually not too bad considering a six pin set nowadays sells for more, and you don't get a display or tombstones.

To add Pluto with Jessica Rabbit, and in a set with other Disney characters, was a very telling move. It meant that Jessica was now recognizable enough to be alongside the others. It was definitely at this point the Jessica Rabbit pins really started to flourish.



Jessica Rabbit and Tinker Bell though are the only two in this series that are not wearing Halloween costumes. Pluto is dressed as a sheriff, with a small bat flying around his nose. Jessica Rabbit is holding a trick-or-treat pumpkin and at least has a look of fright on her face as she is surrounded by bats flying around her. These are not the first pins to have characters dressed AS other Disney characters, but there were not many before it.

Disney Platinum Dolls, Limited Edition Dolls, And More

Last week was a busy flurry of activity with the release of many Limited Edition dolls, including a new set of 17 inch dolls that have been dubbed "The Platinum Collection." The Aladdin and Jasmine Wedding Set started as a rumor months ago and was not officially advertised. It was a true surprise release with the other 17 inch Aladdin dolls and was extremely limited, not to mention extremely expensive. What does this mean for future sets and collecting? A special character selection was made for the Jumbo Pavé Series, which used real crystals on the characters dresses. The characters were Alice, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Tiana, Jessica Rabbit, Tinker Bell and Snow White. Jessica is standing in front of a heart pattern design which has pink pearlized fill. Her dress has seventeen pink pavé crystals. In the earlier days of Jessica's pin releases, she and Tinker Bell were often included with the Disney Princesses, much like this series.

The wheels are plussed with purple pavé crystals.
