Jessica Rabbit Appears In Disneyland Paris Anniversary Parade

Check out the ImNotBad Twitter feed for photos and video of Jessica Rabbit making her second park appearance for the 25th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris. Though Jessica made one park appearance before, it was at the Disney Dreamers Everywhere event in 2013 (pictured right) which was not open to the general public. For 2017 Jessica was included in the 150 characters taking part in the Disneyland Paris 25th Anniversary, alongside other rare faces like Oswald the Rabbit, The Rescuers, Emperor Kuzco, Milo & Kida, Hercules & Meg and many more. The day began with a big opening ceremony featuring all the characters around the castle. Roger and Jessica Rabbit marched out with many others to It's A Small World which was partly combined with the Main Street Electrical Parade Theme. The characters all performed to Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, When You Wish Upon a Star, and music created for the anniversary. Later in the day there was an Anniversary Parade featuring all the characters seen during the opening ceremony.

Miss Switch Custom Figure By Gary Anderson

In taking a break from the usual Disney related news, I wanted to show a custom figure I had commissioned that is absolutely amazing. In rediscovering some retro cartoons online I stumbled across The Trouble with Miss Switch, an ABC Weekly Special cartoon from 1980 that I had watched often. The cartoons were based on a 1971 children's book of the same name by Barbara Brooks Wallace. The book was fairly popular and when it was translated into cartoons they were re-run frequently due to the high interest. The cartoon specials were produced by Ruby-Spears who made shows like Heathcliff and Dingbat, Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show. I wondered how any popular 80's cartoon would have slipped by without some kind of merchandise - other than the books whose covers were changed to depict versions of the characters from the cartoon. That's when I asked a talented customizer. I had followed his work for many years and asked if he was up for the challenge. The end result is exactly what I had asked for and turned out to be a fantastic custom figure. Read all about the creation of this figure and learn more about the artist living in Ireland who has a love of pop culture and action figures...

2017 Disney Doll Rumors

Disney's latest live action adaptation, Beauty and the Beast, is schedule to hit theaters on March 17th. Merchandise has been appearing in all stores and many clips have been released online. Rumors of 17 inch dolls have been circulating for some time but have yet to produce any photo proof mere weeks before the film is released. Not all Live Action films have had 17 inch dolls made, Maleficent being the most notable. Other movies such as Cinderella and Alice Through the Looking Glass have had a few. With Disney's 17 inch dolls showing no sign of slowing down, and Beauty and the Beast set to be a big release, a few dolls are almost all but confirmed.

A Tribute To Tom Tumbusch And Tomart's Publications

Anyone who has been a toy collector or Disney fan will know Tomart's Magazines very well. When bookstores were prevalent and the internet was still in its early days, you relied heavily on these publications for the latest news on figures, statues, events and where to buy antique toys. The owner of Tomart's Publications, Tom Tumbusch, passed away in July of 2016. He's regarded as a pioneer in Disney History research and for many years his magazines were used as the best sources of information on toys, collections and more. Let's take a small look at the man who brought together legions of Disney fans and collectors alike in a very big way. (Photo by Gary Cruise)
