Disney Fairytale Designer Collection 2 Revealed

The Disney Designer dolls went in a different direction in 2013 with the new Fairytale Collection. The first Fairytale series included Jasmine and Aladdin, Snow White and The Prince, Eric and Ariel, Beauty and the Beast and Rapunzel and Flynn. People picked out their favorites - and certain things they did and didn't like about each couple - but all dolls sold out and proved to be rather successful. Ariel and Eric were the most popular couple, selling out in a very short time. After the first five couples, there was a lot of speculation if a second series of dolls would be released - since it was an off year for the D23 Convention, and since it seemed a lot of the more popular Princesses were released in the first series.

All five couples in Series Two of the Designer Fairytale Collection have now been reveled thanks to the Disney Store's Blog The Buzz and people are again choosing which couple is their favorite, making note of Disney's great style with this series. Now, it's only high hopes that a possible Leading Ladies Designer Series may come out - as people still want to see different characters AND the survival of the Designer Collection as a whole. New characters like Merida, Anna, Elsa are still wanted in Designer form - and others like Sally, Alice, Esmeralda, Megara and of course Jessica Rabbit would look great with a Designer Collection treatment.

There should be more news on the series soon, here is Disney's official announcement:
"Last year, Disney Store unveiled the Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, a beautifully crafted assortment of products designed to capture the essence of “happily ever after” at its best and celebrate iconic Disney Princess characters and their leading men.

We are excited to officially announce a continuation of the collection with product featuring additional Disney Princess characters, anchored by five Limited Edition Doll Sets that include Tiana and Naveen; Pocahontas and John Smith; Cinderella and Prince Charming; Mulan and Li Shang; and Briar Rose and Prince Phillip."

Couture de Force Collection Unveiled

Over at Enesco, they have unveiled the new Couture de Force Collection, recapturing some of Disney's most memorable Princesses and Villains. Here's what their site has to say about this amazing new series:

Disney Couture de Force is a stunning collection inspired by Disney's reigning princesses and vampy villains embellished in haute couture. No detail is overlooked from faux jewels to opalescent paints bring each sculpture to life.

Each statue is $65 and the line will be available starting in July. While their description of the series states the collection is inspired by princesses and villains - this would be a PERFECT fit for Jessica Rabbit should the series be popular enough. Let's hope so - but in the meantime, take a look at some of the stunning pieces coming this summer!

Lady Tremaine Doll A Success

The surprise Lady Tremaine doll released on October 2nd was a big success, selling out within a few hours of release. While people are questioning Disney's liberal use of purple material for the Wicked Stepmothers ample collar - everyone who has her in hand says that the doll is stunning in person. Up close and personal photos (via DRJ1828) show how detailed and well designed this collection is. Yet another testament of why the dolls are so popular and well received. I believe their title is something like the Heirloom Collection, but rumors are buzzing about who else could be released down the line. Peter Pan is scheduled for rerelease in March 2013, with many people wanting Peter, Wendy, or Captain Hook more so than Tinker Bell (who has tons of dolls already available.) There is no set release date for the Who Framed Roger Rabbit 25th Anniversary DVD, but the best guess would be some time during the summer if they are making it a genuine Anniversary commemoration. Could we really be seeing a Jessica Rabbit 17 inch doll made for next year?

Could A New Jessica Doll Be Coming

During the past few years, Disney started to release a very special limited edition collector doll in conjunction with a DVD release. The Snow White doll was the first to be released, along with the DVD coming out on the same date in 2009. The doll was available for pre-order and sold for $99. It was a Limited Edition of 5000, and from what I understand, it has become a fairly sought after doll today. Other Princesses soon followed - up to Rapunzel, she too was released - but there was a surprise doll released as well of Mother Gothel, at an edition size of only 1500 in 2011. Also that year, two surprise dolls (Alice, and Queen of Hearts) were released during the hype of the Disney Designer Princess dollMAGEDDON, and both of them were a Limited Edition of only 500 each. That is an extremely low number to the doll collecting community. (Photo Via DRJ1828)

Jumping to 2012, Cinderella is being re-released on DVD, this time for Blu Ray, and a doll is also on the way October 2nd. A surprise release which was just found out will be Cinderella's wicked stepmother, Lady Tremaine, making only her second appearance now in doll form. With this trend, could we possibly see a Jessica Rabbit doll released in 2013 along with the Who Framed Roger Rabbit 25th Anniversary Blu Ray DVD? There really is no telling if this is a possibility at this point. To not celebrate the special anniversary with some new merchandise would be a shame, but the past anniversaries had not offered much, other than pins. With Disney's new interest in releasing very limited edition dolls at the same time as a DVD, it seems only fitting to have a new and improved Jessica Rabbit doll. Stay Tooned!!
