A new Jessica Rabbit custom doll has shown up on Flickr. This particular doll is made by David Bocci (Refugio Rosa). Jessica has a very realistic look with all her familiar signature qualities - purple eyeshadow, bright orange hair and a fully sequined gown. A Mattel doll was used as the base and the transformation is stunning. It's been quite a long time since we've gotten any official Jessica Rabbit dolls, and altogether there have only been two ever made. Miss Switch Custom Figure By Gary Anderson

In taking a break from the usual Disney related news, I wanted to show a custom figure I had commissioned that is absolutely amazing. In rediscovering some retro cartoons online I stumbled across The Trouble with Miss Switch, an ABC Weekly Special cartoon from 1980 that I had watched often. The cartoons were based on a 1971 children's book of the same name by Barbara Brooks Wallace. The book was fairly popular and when it was translated into cartoons they were re-run frequently due to the high interest. The cartoon specials were produced by Ruby-Spears who made shows like Heathcliff and Dingbat, Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show. I wondered how any popular 80's cartoon would have slipped by without some kind of merchandise - other than the books whose covers were changed to depict versions of the characters from the cartoon. That's when I asked a talented customizer. I had followed his work for many years and asked if he was up for the challenge. The end result is exactly what I had asked for and turned out to be a fantastic custom figure. For a brief time there is an amazing Jessica Rabbit custom doll on eBay and it's quite the conversation piece. Taking inspiration from the Jessica Rabbit Mattel doll (released in 1999), this Barbie is made over to look like the cartoon siren of Toontown herself! While we still sit and wait for Disney to make a brand new version of Jessica in ANY type of doll form, take a look at this a one-of-a-kind custom that will have you panting like the patrons at the Ink and Paint Club.

New Custom Jessica Rabbit Art At Tiki Toons Event

On Saturday, May 23rd, the Van Eaton Galleries in California held a Tiki Toons Group Art Show and Sale. The exhibit runs through June 13, 2015 so there's still a chance for you to check out the art. There is a huge selection of one-of-a-kind artwork on display, and for sale, featuring different cartoon characters with a tiki theme. Characters like The Misfits from Jem, Scooby Doo, Frozen, Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Betty Boop, Spongebob, Cruella, Stitch, The Flintstones and more were all the subject of this event. On Bonnie D. Graham's show, Senior Moments: The Happy Ones!, she welcomes artist and art teacher Marvin Anchin. He brought to the show his life-size, papier-mâché statues of movie characters Mr. Wolf from The Mask and Jessica Rabbit.
