Angelina Jolie As Maleficent

She's been called the human version of Jessica Rabbit, but Angelina Jolie is playing an in-the-flesh version of Disney Villain Maleficent. This live-action version of Disney's Sleeping Beauty, titled Maleficent, will be focusing more on the villain herself. The movie is now scheduled to be released in summer 2014. Here is the first look at the movie.

Pin Release - Jessica Rabbit DCA Pins Collection Four

A fourth series of Castmember Jessica Rabbit pins was released on Saturday, November 9th. This time, there are nine pins in all. They are Walt Disney Imagineer Exclusives and were only sold to Disney employees. Jessica Rabbit is dressed as Disneyland Castmembers, each pin is a different costume from a ride or attraction. They are a Limited Edition of 150 and sold for $14.95 each pin. The uniforms are Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Storybook Land, Critter Country, Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Mickey's Toontown and Big Thunder Mountain.

Jessica Rabbit Sign Custom Standee

The sign was originally part of the Jessica's store back in 1991 and stayed on the building for a few years until it was moved the to West End stage and became part of the iconic Pleasure Island sign. Now Available - Jessica And Roger Rabbit Figure

At D23 2013, a Roger and Jessica Rabbit 25th Anniversary statue by COSTA ALAVEZOS was released which was similar to a big figure made many years ago. This smaller version stands at 12" tall and is now selling through the Disney Store Website It is a full resin statue with dark-pink glitter accents to Jessica's dress. It's selling for $95 and appears to be an Open Edition piece.

The Cultural Effect Of Jessica Rabbit


Roger Rabbit isn't the only character from the book and movie to have made an impact on people for the past 25 years. Jessica Rabbit stole hearts and stirred imaginations when she made her movie debut in Who Framed Roger Rabbit in 1988, but her origins go further back to the book Who Censored Roger Rabbit? by Gary K. Wolf. The book is a very different from the movie - however it still features Roger, Jessica, Eddie, Baby Herman, toons, and a murder plot.

Jessica was a different kind of woman in the book and the tone was a very dark and involved murder mystery. So if you are a fan of the movie and haven't read it, you'll definitely want to! You can grab the Kindle Edition at Amazon.com.
