There is no information yet as to when it will be released, but this is going to be a larger scale Vinylmation figure which will stand at 9" tall. No word on a Jessica figure right now, or if this Roger figure with come packed along with a small Vinylmation companion like a lot of the large figures did.

When it comes to Jessica Rabbit food-related items, the list is extremely short. There has not been any Jessica-shaped candy, but she has appeared on several containers. Now, she has her own line of chocolate!

Jessica Rabbit has appeared on shirts, hats, mugs, beach towels - and even the occasional candy container. However, she now has her own line of candy - called I'm not bad... I'm just drawn to chocolate. Jessica Rabbit & chocolate lovers can enjoy being drawn to this for many reasons. Jessica Rabbit herself is posed on the box, and she offers her very own brand of chocolate!

The Jessica Rabbit chocolate is available at Disney's Candy Cauldron store located in Downtown Disney, but it had been widely available in several Disneyland and Disney World park candy stores. The Jessica candy was first released around February of 2011 - and surprisingly is still selling in many Disney park locations. There are also other character who have their own line - like Tinker Bell's Bitter Sweet Lemon Drops, The Evil Queen's Everyone Has A Dark Side Chocolate Nonpareils, and Mouseketeer I'm A Chocolatear Chocolate Covered Raisins - each selling for $3.95 a box.

The candy is not shaped like kisses or anything fancy. They are simple chocolate blobs which are sealed inside a foil wrapper inside the Jessica Rabbit box. There is chocolate on the outside and a mint flavored white creme inside - much like Junior Mints or a Peppermint Patty. There are about twenty or so chocolate pieces in each box, and each piece is a delicious combination of mint and chocolate. Jessica Rabbit is only on the box, horizontal one one side and vertical on the other - both with the I'm not bad... I'm just drawn to chocolate title. The image of Jessica on the box has been used before for her Cinnamon Mints candy - but it's a great photo and the art is very bold and colorful. So, other than the box art, the candy itself does not really have anything to do with Jessica Rabbit.

The Jessica Rabbit I'm not bad... I'm just drawn to chocolate dark chocolate mint creams get a 3½. They are delicious, if you like mint and chocolate. It might not be a taste for everyone - and it would have been cool if the candy was in the shapes of lips or hearts.

Betty Boop as Jessica Rabbit statue

While searching around for more Jessica Rabbit info, I happened across a photo of this Betty Boop statue. The body indeed belongs to Jessica Rabbit, and has been used for Jessica art before. This is the first I have seen of this statue so I'm not sure when it was release. It was a little hard to track down but one site has it for sale. The statue is being called Betty Boop Classic Singer, and it's clear to see she is "drawing" a lot of inspiration from Jessica. Since the two of them worked together at the Ink and Paint Club, I suppose that's ok. It's only fair Jessica dress as Betty now! The Betty Boop statue was also available in black glitter.

Jessica Rabbit Tonner Doll Sold Out

It appears that all locations selling the Tonner Jessica Rabbit doll are officially sold out. The doll was released in July/August of 2010, and was a limited edition of 1000. Tonner Direct, Entertainment Earth, and other vendors are sold out - although you can find it on eBay now and then. If you have not bought it yet, be sure to get one when you see it. Though no news ever came of the rumored Jessica Rabbit trunk set - Tonner's next project is going to be the characters of Tim Burton. So far there were previews of his reimagined versions of The Corpse Bride and Beetlejuice.

Disney's Only Official Jessica Rabbit FOUND

THIS JUST IN! ImNotBad.com reader, Daniel, went on a search for the elusive Jessica Rabbit from the Walt Disney World on Ice show back in 1990. I for one have never seen any photos of her and didn't even know she was in this show until recently, which was confirmed by Roger Rabbit creator, Gary Wolf. Well, we now finally have a photo of the first (and so far, only) ever live Jessica Rabbit costumed character - officially by Disney!

The story for the show begins with Gyro Gearloose building a time machine that goes haywire. All the beloved Disney characters are scattered throughout different time periods and places. Scrooge McDuck (trying to find his lost nephews Huey, Dewey & Louie) runs into Roger Rabbit in ancient Egypt - wrapped up as a mummy. Roger and Scrooge make it back to Toontown and find Eddie Valiant for help. When Eddie and Roger's wacky antics are no help in cheering up Scrooge, Jessica Rabbit joins in by telling jokes to cheer him up - which, of course, she does. Naturally, everything works out in the end and all characters are reunited. There was very little information about this and it was never marketed that Jessica was even a part of the show. So, there is no information right now as to if she skated or what her performance was like.

I really wondered how Disney was going to approach making the Jessica Rabbit character appear live- but as we can see, it is a woman dressed in a very accurate costume of Jessica. The most accurate I have ever seen! The photos come from the Walt Disney's World Disney on Ice Program Book from 1990. There is no specific actress credited for playing this part, and the Jessica character does not appear in any of the group shots either. I believe the Eddie character had been in a Disneyland Paris parade with Roger on a Benny the Cab float, but this also is one of the few times Disney used this character for a live event. Photos from this Disney program book were originally found through a Webshots profile belonging to JozyMouse, but I tracked down the program book and was able to buy one. Special thanks to Daniel for the find, and to JozyMouse for being such a big Disney fan and leading us to the one-and-only live version of Disney's Jessica Rabbit.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #41 - Jessica Print By Darren Wilson

It has been quite a long time since any "affordable" Jessica Rabbit artwork has been released. Disney parks are now offering a Jessica Rabbit print that you won't want to pass up!

Jessica Rabbit art has been hard to come by, unless you plan on spending quite a lot of money. Posters and prints seem to be a thing of the past, but just recently released is an entire series of new Disney artwork by Darren Wilson. He has created such colorful works including characters like Mickey, the Disney Villains, and Jessica! Each painting seems to have the same use of background pallet colors, with each character likeness captured exquisitely.

The paintings were for sale at some Disney Gallery locations, but if you need to be a little more money conscious, there are prints of each painting available for only $20 each. The Art of Disney Gallery was carrying all of these, but I don't think the prints are limited to that location only.

The Jessica Rabbit print by Darren Wilson gets a 5! Great art, and at the right price.

Coming Soon - Jessica Rabbit by Jim Shore

At long last, folk artist Jim Shore is adding Jessica Rabbit to his extensive library of work. Inspired by quilt patterns and a rosemaling style, Jim Shore's work is easily recognizable. Disney and Enesco teamed up to create the Disney Traditions line, and it has been very popular for many years. Jessica Rabbit joins the list of other characters such as Tinker Bell, The Muppets, Winnie the Pooh, Aladdin, and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Entitled, "Drawn This Way," Jessica Rabbit by Jim Shore is set to be released in June 2012.

Jessica Rabbit Vinylmation Rumors

I've heard from a few people now that there is rumor of a Roger and Jessica Rabbit Vinylmation set or series in the works. There is no other information available other than that, but pretty much the only characters yet to be created in that line are from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The Vinylmation line became a pretty big hit a couple years back and have included characters from almost every Disney movie or ride, Star Wars characters, and The Muppets. They are essentially small Mickey-shaped, bear-like figures with a different characters likeness printed on the front. Over the years, some of them have gotten pretty creative and have brought about different types of series for Disney rides, holidays, and even expensive one-of-a-kind pieces.

It appears that the Jessica Rabbit Premium Format Figure by Sideshow Collectibles, originally scheduled for release during the first quarter of 2012, has been pushed back to the second quarter. This means instead of coming out any time now, it won't be released until around spring.

ImNotBad.com had gotten off to a very slow start when the site first opened in 2008, but this year there were over 100 posts, 7 artist interviews, and 19 merchandise reviews.

The Jessica Rabbit merchandise news had slowed down a lot since there was a huge cut-back in DisneyStore.com pins. Only 36 Jessica pins were released in 2011, 6 of which came from DisneyStore.com (that is a huge difference from the over 100 Jessica pins released in 2007.) The remaining 30 Jessica pins released in 2011 came from the parks or The Disney Soda Fountain Studio Store. There was no Halloween or Christmas series either, which had many people asking why this happened. Disney pins as a whole seemed to be scaled back considerably, with not only Jessica, but many fan-favorite characters going missing throughout the year.

The Jessica Rabbit Premium Format Figure had long been rumored by Sideshow Collectibles - creating other Disney characters like Maleficent and Captain Hook down the line. Finally Jessica was revealed just before the San Diego Comic Con in July, and had everyone drooling. Sadly, the lack of an exciting Exclusive Edition and high limited edition size put people off - although as of now the Exclusive Edition is still sold out and everyone seems to agree it will be the best and most accurate Jessica Rabbit statue ever. With every company on an 80's kick, you would think there would have been a big resurgence in Roger and Jessica merchandise. That surely was not the case. Thundercats, He-Man, Ghostbusters, Smurfs, and soon even Jem, are all getting back in the public eye - so why not Jessica?

Disney Parks did have some offerings besides pins this year. A new Jessica Rabbit art print by Darren Wilson was released during the last quarter of the year, and back in the beginning of the year, I'm not bad... I'm just drawn to chocolate candy was released with an image of Jessica on the box.

It did seem to be a year of celebrities drawing inspiration from Jessica. Angelina Jolie, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna, and more donned a look very similar to that of Jessica - and a tight red dress was a hit for many women at different events, and Jessica Rabbit became a popular costume for Halloween.

We had some fantastic interviews from different Jessica Rabbit artists found only on this site- including the creator of Jessica Rabbit, Gary K Wolf. Pin designer, Wendy Gell, told us which real life Princess received one of the first ever Jessica Rabbit pins, while doll designer, Lisa Temming, explained exactly why the look of the Mattel Jessica Rabbit doll was changed at the last minute.

The biggest news was discovering that Jessica Rabbit was one of the characters in the Disney On Ice Show - unfortunately that was was back in 1990, and as of now I have not seen any photos of her in the show. Another discovery by this site was that the building which housed the Jessica's store was home of the Dick Tracy Store first. That meant the Jessica Rabbit store could have only been open for about a year and a half. The sequel film to Who Framed Roger Rabbit may have stalled, but this Jessica Rabbit website is still going. Hopefully, there will be many more exciting interviews and developments over the next year. Stay Tooned!

Roger Rabbit Sequel Stalled

According to slashFilm, the Who Framed Roger Rabbit Sequel has been stalled.

In a recent interview with producer Kathleen Kennedy, she claims that she and collaborator Steven Spielberg were not planning to get involved in Robert Zemeckis‘ long-gestating sequel in the near future. “We’ve attempted a script, but it’s not really moving forward right now,” said Kennedy. “That’s not to say it won’t in the future, but there’s no spotlight on it now.”

Exclusive Jessica Rabbit Creator Interview - Gary Wolf

For Walt Disney, it all started with a mouse. For Gary Wolf, it all started with a blue cow. In grade school, Gary K. Wolf was already thinking outside the box by coloring a cow bright blue. Even though his teacher criticized it as "silly," his parents embraced his creativity when he told them the cow was all alone and therefore colored it blue.

They encouraged him to read - and he did. Comic books were his passion, but as he got older he branched out to noir mysteries and science fiction. Gary Wolf went on to become an author, screenwriter, lecturer and entertainment consultant. He is well know for being the creator of Roger and Jessica Rabbit. The premise to his story, Who Censored Roger Rabbit, came to him while watching Saturday morning cartoons. His story of zany characters living side-by-side with humans was hard to sell, but after many rejections, a small publishing company bought the idea. The film adaptation, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, went on to become a multi-million dollar success, earning Gary a Hugo Award for screen writing, and introduced some of the most unique characters to the Disney library. What followed in its wake was a new golden age of traditionally animated Disney films, and influenced the creation of new Disney parks.

I had the honor of interviewing Gary Wolf to bring you some exclusive information found only on this site. Where did he get inspiration to create Jessica Rabbit? Who called him to discuss making his book into a movie? Did Disney ever have Jessica make a live appearance? Find out!

What was your first published work?

Gary Wolf:
A short story in Worlds of Tomorrow called Love Story.

INB:
What inspired you to write Who Censored Roger Rabbit ?

Gary:
I had written and published a number of short stories and novels. I was always trying to push the envelope. Write things that were completely unique, things which nobody had ever thought of before. One Saturday morning I was watching cartoons on TV. (For research, I told my wife!) I wasn’t that enchanted with the cartoons themselves, but suddenly I really started to notice the commercials. You had the Trix Rabbit, Cap’n Crunch, Snap, Crackle and Pop. Cartoon characters, talking to real kids, and nobody seemed to think that was odd. That gave me my first inspiration. What if you had a world where cartoon characters were real? What kind of world would that be?

INB:
How did you approach writing such a detailed story?

Gary:
I spent years researching comic books, comic strips, and animated cartoons looking for what made cartoon characters “cartoony.” For instance, can a Toon drink liquor? Is there a Toon liquor? If a Toon drinks human liquor, what happens? Conversely, what happens to a human who drinks Toon liquor? Where do Toons live? How do Toons interact with one another when they’re not performing? It went on and on. My ultimate goal was to make sure that everything was consistent in the world I was creating. If there was one single thing that made readers question the premise, the whole thing would swiftly fall apart.

INB:
How did you get the idea for creating Jessica Rabbit?

Gary:
I wanted Roger to have a drop dead gorgeous wife who was humanoid so humans would lust after her, too. Her look came from Tex Avery’s famous Red Hot Riding Hood character which I myself lusted after as a boy. Her attitude was Tinker Bell all grown up and funky. And of course I mixed in quite a bit of Marilyn Monroe.

INB:
Did you come up with the name "toons"?

Gary:
I did. That one just came to me one day, like the best ideas usually do. I wanted some form of shorthand I could use for cartoon characters. I looked at the word “cartoon.” Since cars was already taken, I went with Toons.

INB:
How did Disney approach you about doing a movie of Roger Rabbit?

Gary:
I got a call directly from Roy Disney. Somebody at St. Martin’s Press, the book’s publisher, had photocopied the manuscript and sent it to Disney. I never found out who did it even though I tried mightily so I could kiss him or her full on the lips. Roy introduced himself and told me that Disney was interested in making a movie based on my book. I hung up on him. I had a friend who played a lot of practical jokes on me, and I thought this was one. Luckily, it wasn’t. Roy immediately called me back. A few weeks later we did the deal.

INB:
By many accounts, it seems the movie was almost cancelled various times due to the increasing budget and difficulty of creating such a project - what elements (or people) do you think really convinced Disney to keep the project going?

Gary:
There were so very many wonderful people involved in its early stages, all of whom believed in it and kept the project alive. The list is too long to enumerate. I give special shout outs to Michael Eisner who re-energized the project when he took over, and to Jeff Katzenberg who kept it going despite the ever-increasing budget and the uncertainty as to whether there was actually a market for this film.

INB:
Jessica is a bit different in your book than the movie (as were many things), were these elements changed to be more "Disney friendly?"

Gary:
All of the changes from book to movie were done to support the movie story which, by necessity, was different from the book story. A book is a book and a movie is a movie. As an author, I accept that. Disney did keep the main characters and the premise which I believe was my main contribution to the process. We were out to make a great movie, not a great Disney movie. Disney-fying it never really entered the equation.

INB:
What were some ideas for Jessica that never made it to the final film?

Gary:
I don’t recall any major changes in Jessica’s look or character. They wanted her waist very narrow so there would be no doubt that she was drawn and not Rotoscoped. The animators had a hard time with her. They were used to drawing ducks and rabbits and elephants. Drawing a woman, and not just any woman but the absolute essence of woman, gave them some problems. They eventually got it right and succeeded in capturing her nature and her look magnificently.

INB:
Where there any other actresses in mind to voice Jessica?

Gary:
Never. Bob Zemeckis had worked with Kathleen before. She was the only actress considered.

INB:
Do you know why Kathleen Turner went uncredited for her voice work on the film?

Gary:
Nobody knew if this movie would be a huge success or Howard the Duck. So Kathleen decided to do what James Earl Jones did when he voiced Darth Vader in the first Star Wars movie. She did it without film credit. If it was a success, she would be the mystery woman who did the voice uncredited. When people found out it was her, she’d get press. If it was a failure, she could disavow any knowledge.

INB:
I've heard a rumor that a song by singer Sting called "The Lazarus Heart" was supposed to be the original ending song to the WFRR movie. Was that true?

Gary:
Never hear that.

INB:
What was your reaction to the movie?

Gary:
I loved everything about it. [Robert] Zemeckis and [Steven] Spielberg propelled my characters and my premise to a higher level. They took my novel, which plays to a reader’s imagination, and visualized it. That was no simple task.

INB:
Disney seemed to be cautions when merchandising Jessica in the very beginning. Was there any Jessica merchandise that got shot down due to her sexy look?

Gary:
Probably. I didn’t see every piece of merchandise proposed, but I’m sure that modern commerce being what it is, somebody came up with something sleazy.

INB:
Jessica Rabbit had her own store in Pleasure Island for a very short time. Were you at all involved in it's creation, or did you ever visit?

Gary:
I visited there many times. In fact, they brought me in as a special guest when it opened. When it closed, I offered to buy the big Jessica sign. I thought it would look great on the roof of my house. As far as I know it’s still in storage someplace. Maybe all of us Jessica fans can get together and make Disney an offer they can’t refuse!

INB:
Were you involved in the creation of the Roger Rabbit themed area in MGM Studios, and the Car-Toon Spin ride in Disneyland?

Gary:
Not really. That’s way outside my area of expertise. I did see the preliminary sketches, but that’s as far as it went.

INB:
Did Disney ever have plans to have a Jessica Rabbit costumed character walking around the parks?

Gary:
Never. Jessica was a character in the Disney On Ice Show. As I recall it, Jessica was perched atop a moving float. She vamped but did not skate.

INB:
You wrote a sequel book titled Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit, which has Jessica explain the first book to be a dream. Was this your idea, or did Disney request it to continue the series?

Gary:
It was my idea. The sequel novel was a conceptual problem for me since probably a billion people saw the movie and maybe half a dozen read the book. So most peoples’ concept of my characters was what they had seen on screen. There were concepts in the book which I liked very much, and which my readers also liked. The word balloons for instance. I wanted to keep them in a book. Plus, in the original book, Roger’s character was slightly different. I had to have a way to explain that change in the sequel. So I used the dream concept. Which I saw used on the TV series Dallas. If they could do it on national television, I figured it would work for me.

INB:
What inspired you to create Jessica's twin sister, Joellyn, and her unusual appearance.

Gary:
I wanted more Jessica in the book. I also wanted a romantic partner for Eddie. The idea of somebody who looks like Jessica but is only six inches tall was too good to resist. I loved the idea of Eddie carrying his girlfriend around in his breast pocket.

INB:
Disney Pin Collecting became a huge craze in 2000. In 2003, Jessica started to show up and soon became a very popular character to collect. Do you have any idea on how/why Disney started to use Jessica for their pins?

Gary:
I’m as amazed by that as everybody else. And very pleased. Although those Jessica pins are really, really, really hard for me to autograph at collectible shows.

INB:
Do you think Jessica Rabbit influenced the sexy female cartoon characters and female character related merchandise we see today?

Gary:
No question about it. I’ve seen surveys which rank Jessica Rabbit as one of the hottest movie actresses of all time. Quite an accomplishment for a Toon. I’ve seen Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, Megan Fox, and Rachel Ray all dressed as Jessica. Some as recently as two months ago. So Jessica is still with us in spirit and in form. Hopefully, she’ll be with us for a whole lot longer.

INB:
There has been recent rumor for a few years that Robert Zemeckis wants to do a sequel finally - yet there has been no news for a while. Is there anything you could share with us?

Gary:
Nope. Sorry.

INB:
The last we heard from your sequel book, Who P-P-P-Plugged Roger Rabbit, Jessica reveals that she is pregnant. Did you have any ideas about Roger and Jessica's children - and what The Rabbit's might be up to today?

Gary:
Haven't given any thought to Roger and Jessica's offspring. Maybe I'll have to take a trip to Toontown someday soon and see how they're doing.

Disney On Ice Show With Jessica Rabbit

According to The Disney Wiki, Roger Rabbit made a guest appearances in two of the Disney on Ice shows. During his first appearance at the Walt Disney World on Ice: 10th Anniversary show in 1991, Roger helps Scrooge McDuck find Huey, Dewey and Louie who all disappeared when a time machine wreaks havoc. Feeling bad for Scrooge, Roger brings him to Eddie Valiant's office. Roger and Eddie try to cheer up Scrooge by telling him jokes, but it does not seem to work. Then Jessica Rabbit joins in!

Jessica is the only one to cheer up Scrooge by telling some jokes and he thanks them all for their help. This would mark the only ever official Disney live appearance as someone dressed as Jessica Rabbit. I don't know what the live version of Jessica looks like because I cannot find any photos to back up the story. There is one of Roger and Eddie. You can see they are wearing ice skates and it would have had to be part of one of the On Ice shows.

Jessica Rabbit Premium Format Poll Results

A few months ago ImNotBad.com conducted it's first opinion poll to see who would be buying the Jessica Rabbit Premium Format statue by Sideshow Collectibles. Out of 100 voters, 49 said yes - but surprisingly 22 said No and 29 said Maybe. Though it seems the majority will be getting the statue, if we add the No's and Maybe's - that is 51%. So, it still seems to be a pretty split feeling on the statue with most people not quite sure still. Perhaps it is the price, or the lack of an interesting Exclusive version. Still, the Exclusive version of the Premium Format is sold out as of right now, but the regular edition is amongst the highest edition size by Sideshow at 1500.

Feast your eyes on what could have been. This is a picture of Marvin Acme and an early version of what Jessica Rabbit was supposed to look like. This depiction of Jessica was SO close to being the final version, that you can still see it in the movie. In the Who Framed Roger Rabbit film, when Eddie is looking at the newspaper after talking to Baby Herman, you can see this image if you pause it at the right moment. When the animation had to begin creation, her look was changed at the last second to the Jessica Rabbit we know now. Her face is very different, and almost looks close to a young Kathleen Turner (who supplied her speaking voice). The top of her dress was different and her gloves are much shorter.

The Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store isn't going to let the lack of pins for Halloween pass quietly. This month, they are releasing SIX different Jessica Rabbit pins - just in case your wallet was getting bored!

The first pin is the Jessica Thanksgiving pin, being released on November 5th. This is only a limited edition of 150 and will see for $10.95 each.

The next pins to be released on November 19th are part of the Jessica Rabbit Decades series. This continues from the first series of Jessica dressed in clothes from 1910, 20, 30 and 40's. The new series will be 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. They are limited to 300 each (note the 1970's edition size is probably wrong on the flyer) and will sell for $10.95 each.

Last, there will be a Roger and Jessica Lightbulb series pin released on November 26th. Roger and Jessica are together next to a Christmas lightbulb. These pins might be a little bigger as they are selling for $12.95 each and a limited edition of 150.

It's not even Halloween yet and already we have Christmas starting to show up around the corner. Many people have been disappointed by the serious lack of Jessica Rabbit pins from DisneyStore.com. There was no "Jessica As" costume series released this year, and at this point we might assume the Christmas selection will be small too. However Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store has been trying to keep things going and is showing a preview for the Jessica Stocking pin. Technically speaking, it's a "Roger" stocking as his name appears on it, but Jessica is there inside. If you are sharp-eyed enough, you will notice that the particular pose by Jessica is taken from the Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie, just after she drops Marvin Acme's handkerchief. She is just Drawn with Christmas decorations to make it set the proper holiday. This is the main complaint about pins now. Where is all the new art? Reusing images, or lifting images from a movie, is not the same as creating a whole new pose. As of late, it seems to be all we are getting.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #40 - Jessica and Mickey Shirt

Seldom have we seen any merchandise of Jessica Rabbit and another Disney character - especially when it comes to Mickey Mouse himself! The World of Disney New York offered a shirt that should have been a big deal, but seemed to fall flat for some unknown reason. Lets find out why!

Several years ago, when I had seen plush dolls of Mickey and Minnie dressed as Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, I was really surprised. Something like that means the Nightmare characters are being pushed more publicly and/or that the characters are recognizable enough for such a thing to happen anyway. Nightmare started out with a bit of a cult following, and little merchandise available. However, it has now become a huge commodity for Disney. The same is true for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, with the exception of it having only a cult following. The movie was a huge success, but when the characters disappeared (also with little to no merchandising) people seemed to forget about the characters ties to Disney. Cut to the pin collecting craze and Jessica Rabbit arising from the ashes. This made way for other merchandise - mugs, beach towels, statues, and shirts.

Disney first tested the waters by pairing Jessica Rabbit with Pluto for a Halloween pin set in 2005. This appeared that the Disney Company had a bit more faith in the Jessica character to bring in money - and to be recognized. If she was not recognizable, this could also show that Disney wanted to start reintroducing her to the public. The same can be said for the World of Disney New York shirt featuring Jessica Rabbit with none other that Mickey Mouse! This is a stunning shirt, but it was something made available only to a select market. This was a fitted women's shirt, and I think by not making another shirt that could be worn by anyone, it obviously limited who could buy it.

Disney did put a fair amount of work into this garment. There is a full picture of Jessica Rabbit in all her glory. The image is taken from the Ink and Paint Club scene, so the art is not new, but the recreation of it is superb. She has lots of shadows and highlights - and even sparkles on her dress. If you get a closer look at the photos, you will see Jessica's dress is actually adorned with real beads. They are not pave crystals or stones, but definitely have that look to them. They match the color of Jessica's dress and pick up the light very well.

The backdrop, of course, is New York City. Jessica looks to be hailing a cab (on what street thought I cannot tell) and who is the cab drive. Low and behold, it is Mickey Mouse. I was very surprised to see the addition of Mickey along with Jessica. Again it meant Disney was pushing the Jessica character as a mechanisable icon such as Nightmare, the Disney Princesses and several others. Jessica is unlike any of the Disney characters as she can appeal to adults (though by today's standards her look is tame enough for anyone). All elements on this shirt are bright, vibrant and colorful. The gray city backdrop really allows our cartoon friends to - pop out.

Sadly, from the story this photo might tell, the shirt didn't sell very well for it to end up at 50% off. As I mentioned, it was a tight-fitted women's shirt. This takes out men being able to buy it, and also any women who do not like that type of shirt. I think this would have sold much better as a regular t-shirt. I'm not sure what the other shirt next to it is, but I do have the Jessica and Mickey shirt and the back is all black material. I think this shirt might have been part of a separate World of Disney New York line they were trying out at the time.

The Jessica Rabbit and Mickey Mouse World of Disney New York shirt gets a 3½. It's hard to remove points on this solely on the fact I cannot wear the shirt, but I can't overlook this first time use of a Jessica shirt design only for women - who apparently didn't like it as much either. Making it a tight fitted shirt narrows the market even more. Still, it's wonderfully designed and the artwork, although reused, looks great.

While I'm not an avid doll collector, there are certainly some that catch my eye from time to time. One series that did was the Disney Princess Designer Collection. There was a Limited Edition pin set released of the artwork for all ten Disney Princess - Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana and Rapunzel. The pin set was only available at the D23 Expo in August, and is now selling for big bucks on eBay.

So what does this have to do with Jessica? Well, read on...

Once the Princess Designer Pin Set was released, Disney revealed that there would also be Limited Edition dolls to match coming soon. The internet was buzzing about these dolls, and with such high edition sizes like 6000 or 4000, it seemed like these dolls would be easy to come by. Well, guess again. I for one have been subjected to waiting all night for an item to be listed, the DisneyStore.com website not cooperating, hidden links, or "sorry this item is sold out" notices very often when buying Jessica pins. However, that was when we were talking about Limited Edition sizes of 250 or 100. You could imagine my shock to learn how fast the Disney Princess Designer dolls were selling out. Ariel, the second doll to be released, sold out in about a half hour. Snow White sold out in less than an hour. That is insanity! The other dolls (Cinderella, Belle and Mulan) also sold out very fast.

One doll would be released each Monday - much like Disney Pins - and customers were only allowed 2 dolls... per Order. The speed at which the dolls were selling out did not go well with many customers. It's become such a big deal that The Disney Company had no choice but to respond. Instead of releasing one doll each week, they are waiting until October 17th to release the remaining 5 dolls all at once, and guests will only be allowed one doll of each Princess. The next day there will be an allotment of dolls for sale on DisneyStore.com, with only one per customer allowed as well. As you could have imagined, people are not happy with this new arrangement either - leading people to believe there will be a "Black Friday" of sorts at certain Disney stores, with an even more difficult time buying them online. People are quite upset, opinions and rumors are flying around... dollMAGEDDON will strike in less than a month!!

The top wanted Princess doll seems to be Rapunzel, with Jasmine at a close second. Right in the middle is Tiana, and on the short list of demands is Aurora and Pocahontas.

Many pin collectors have little sympathy with this issue. With pins, this kind of happening was very common. So now, may doll collectors join in on what Jessica pin collectors have had to deal with for a very long time now. This Disney Designer series did not stop at pins and dolls though - there are shirts, scarves, make-up, mugs, journals - and many other items which are also selling out quickly.

However, many people are discussing that there are various top Disney characters not included in this line since they are not "Princesses." Tinker Bell is one name brought up often - leading many to wonder, could there be another Designer series in the future due to the overwhelming ~~madness~~ success of this line? I for one would love to see a Jessica Rabbit Designer Doll, along with other characters like Sally from Nightmare and Alice from Alice in Wonderland. There is also interest in Disney Villains like Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty.

Either way - dollMAGEDDON will soon be upon us. You better check with your local store to see what time they are going to open on October 17th, or be right by your computer the next day on the 18th to try and nab the remaining five Princess dolls!

**UPDATE** An event that seems to be going down in Disney Store history - dollMAGEDDON finally happened on 10/17/11 at almost all Disney Store locations first. From various reports, people were lining up as early as midnight, waiting in their cars, hiding in bushes, and sneaking past security - all for the chance to buy the dolls. (I'm not joking) Stores got a certain amount of dolls of each princess, usually between 10 - 20 dolls. Many people reported some stores had 40 people in line when they arrived at early a.m. hours. Others overheard people in the front of the lines gloating about how they were just going to sell the dolls on eBay later. Then there were further frustrations when many customers missed out on getting any dolls by only being a little too far back on the line. The dolls were limited to one of each doll per customer, and it seems everyone who was able to was buying a full set of five.

The madness then continued the next day on the DisneyStore.com website where everyone (including people who also bought dolls at Disney Store locations) had the opportunity to buy one of each Princess. The Disney Store site was shut down for 45 minutes beforehand to prepare for the sale of THE FINAL FIVE Princess dolls. The dolls were posted at noon eastern time, and within minutes, the website began to experience issues due to so many people on at once trying to buy. Basically, the website crashed. The Disney Store communicated with people via Twitter and Facebook:

"Site is back up, however traffic is still at historic levels. Access will be sporadic."
"Demand for our Designer Dolls is unprecedented. Access to our site will be restricted for approx 10 min. Thank you for your patience."

The site did not get back to functioning order until almost an hour later, although within that time, some people were able to check out and purchase their dolls. Others could add them to their cart but not check out. Many couldn't get the site to work at all. Disney Store kept everyone in the loop though it was all too late. At 1:26 p.m. the dolls began to sell out within every few minutes:

"We can now confirm Aurora and Rapunzel Designer Dolls are sold out."
"We've confirmed that Jasmine is now sold out."
"We've confirmed that the Pocahontas Designer Doll is now sold out"
"All Designer Dolls have sold out. We understand the experience was poor for many, and we're sorry. Thank you for your patience and feedback."

Many customers were extremely frustrated because they were not able to get ANY of the five dolls available due to the site malfunctions and crashing. Either way dollMAGEDDON has come and gone, and the dolls now sell on eBay for at least twice their original price.

Exclusive Jessica Rabbit Artist Interview - Tim Rogerson

As a rising star in the art world, Tim Rogerson casts his artwork with a very evident energy and passion, inspired by the works of Picasso and Matisse.

While studying at the prestigious Ringling School of Art and Design, Mr. Rogerson gained a reputation as an upcoming artist and influence in his own right. In 2009, Mr. Rogerson was named Official Artist for Disney's first ever D23 Expo where he created his most ambitious work to date, "In The Company of Legends," which now sits in the Disney vault as a piece of Disney history.

Learn more about Tim's unique style from the master himself, how he began to work for Disney, and why it took some time to get his first Jessica Rabbit piece approved.

ImNotBad:
Do you remember what inspired you to become an artist?

Tim Rogerson:
My Dad could draw Mickey really well when I was kid. He shared an office with Disney artist Don "Ducky" Williams and he taught my Dad how to draw the Fab 5. I thought it was the coolest thing ever that my Dad could draw Mickey and I would beg him at least 10 times a day to draw Mickey for me. Then, one day during my kindergarten class, it was parent work day and of course I told all the kids my Dad is better than your Dad because he can draw Mickey. And that brought on a "how to" draw Mickey lesson right there in class and that was the first time I ever wondered, could I draw Mickey to. Minutes later I had my blank sheet of paper with a #2 pencil drawing crooked circles and eventually I drew my very first Mickey. I've been hooked ever since!

As a child, which Disney film inspired you the most, and why?

Tim:
When I was 10 years old, I saw the making of the Lion King on the Wonderful World of Disney. It was the week before the film was released in theatres and I'd always been a big fan of Disney animated films. We had every VHS at home and I watched them religiously as I learned how to draw the characters. But I never knew the process of animation so watching this documentary, I'm instantly blown away that here's a job where I can draw and make cartoons at the same time. No joke, the next day I sent a letter to the animation studio asking for a job. And then, the next weekend, the epic Lion King film is released and it was AWESOME! From that moment, I couldn't wait to grow up and be a part of it!

INB:
What was your reaction to the film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and its characters?

Tim:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of those films that every time I watch it, I'm more and more impressed with it. The film came out when I was 6 so I didn't fully understand what I was watching. I remember being terrified at the end with Judge Doom, those crazy eyes and the moment he's flattened to then get up and walk. Terrifying for a 6 yr old, but as I got older, I loved it more and more. Jessica Rabbit was just another cartoon character when I was 6 years old, but at 16, Jessica Rabbit was then hottest cartoon character ever drawn. And now, watching the film as an artist, it's one of the most impressive animated films of all time.

INB:
How did you start working for Disney?

Tim:
It was the summer before I started Art School and I worked full time at Walt Disney World in the Main Street Gallery of the Magic Kingdom. It was a cool job for me because I got to stare at Disney fine art all day which is a total trip to think about because I now have my fine art hanging on those same walls and all those Disney artists who were my heroes are now great friends. And during that summer, we had a signing event at the gallery with Disney legend, Ralph Kent, who was a Animator, Imagineer, and currently was senior artists at the Disney Design Group. I got to spend a few hours with him and I mentioned I was going to art school and hoped to work for Disney afterward in animation. He then put me on the spot and asked me to draw for him. So nervously with my hands shaking, I drew Mickey and to my disbelief, it was the best Mickey I've ever drawn, and so, Ralph was very impressed. He then invited me up to the Disney Design Group and he set me up with a part-time art job at Disney as a character show artist, where I sat in the Disney galleries behind an animation desk and drew Disney characters all day long. And I did that for four years on the weekends while I went to Art school. It was the perfect set up for me to get better at drawing Disney characters and meet all the right people.

INB:
What was the first piece you created for Disney?

Tim:
When I met the directors of Disney Fine Art, they really liked this small painting I did of Mickey with tons of bold bright colors. At that time, they only published artists who had rich history with Disney like Peter Ellenshaw and James Coleman, or artists who were very successful in the fine art industry. So for me, this 19 yr old art student, didn't seem like a possibility, but I went for it anyway. They asked me to recreate that small Mickey on a larger scale as a test to see if it works. Instead I painted 5pieces of the whole Fab 5; Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto. I shipped all 5 paintings to them on a Wednesday, and by Friday, all the directors flew back to Orlando from LA with a publishing deal in hand.

How did the idea to create Jessica Rabbit artwork come about?

Tim:
I've painted Jessica Rabbit twice so far. The first piece was years ago and was inspired by a Jazz piece I had painted of a sexy singer. Right away, I knew I had to do a Disney piece with Jessica Rabbit. And the funny thing was Disney didn't approve the piece for the longest time because it was too sexy. I remember arguing, that's the point, that's why Jessica Rabbit exists. Finally, it was approved and published, and has been a huge hit in the galleries. I've even seen tattoos of that piece. What a compliment for someone to permanently ink your art on their body.

INB:
How long did it take to create your latest Roger and Jessica Rabbit artwork?

Tim:
The latest Roger and Jessica piece took about a week from sketch to finished painting. I'd always wanted to do a piece with Roger and Jessica together and I finally found the time to do it. My style of painting has evolved over the years and about 3 years ago I painted a piece called "Micasso" which changed my style completely. It's much more of cubist inspired style which really magnifies curves and shapes. Perfect for Jessica Rabbit!

INB:
Can you describe the process and inspiration for it?

Tim:
The first part of my process is always the sketch, making sure everything fits together in the most interesting way and looks awesome in black & white. After the drawing is completed, I then transfer that drawing to canvas where I begin painting in oils. The way that I paint is kind of like sculpting where I'd paint a base color first and will then carve out the darks and lights, going back and forth till it works.

INB:
What seems to be the real opinion at Disney of the Jessica Rabbit character?

Tim:
She's definitely a sex icon like Marilyn Monroe. Everyone knows that, especially Disney. But it's a tricky thing for Disney because it's a family friendly company. When you walk around all the artists studios at Disney, you'll always find a sexy Jessica Rabbit drawing on the walls.

INB:
What are some of your favorite pieces that you have ever created?

Tim:
"Micasso" was a big painting for me because I had a bit of a painter's block for a couple months where I didn't know where to go next with my Disney art. I knew something was missing and my Disney art wasn't challenging me as an artist. I then saw this documentary on Picasso and was totally inspired by the Cubist movement. Micasso was born minutes later and I've been ROCKIN' ever since. I feel my biggest accomplishment was "In the Company of Legends" which was the official art for the first ever D23 Expo back in 2009. It was a huge honor to be chosen by Disney to do this and freaked out right away after a conference call with 20 directors who all wanted their own thing in the art. I made this giant list of all the directors wants and then somehow, put it all together in this epic composition that came out so great. The painting Gods were with me for that project. The original oil painting actually sits in the Disney archives so I officially have a piece of Disney history. Pretty Cool!

I'm always painting new Disney fine art and always looking forward to working with Jessica Rabbit again. I've been working on this huge collection where I want to paint every Disney film in the order of their release date. Each painting being filled with all the characters and story elements that make that film special. So far, I've painting Steamboat Willie, Snow White, Pinocchio, and currently working on the 1940 Fantasia. It'll be 10 years before I catch up to Tangled, but eventually I'll get to Who Framed Roger Rabbit and it'll be a big one filled with all the characters and story elements. It'll be the one to beat!

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #39 - Double-Sided Mug

Disney started to release a new line of character mugs that were double-sided. The front of the character would be on the front, and the rear of the mug had their... rear! It took a while, but Disney finally released a Jessica Rabbit double-sided mug in 2004-2005.

The color of the mug is a deep royal blue or purple. It's hard to tell, but it's a great color for a Jessica mug. Jessica is on the front and she is emerging from the curtains of the Ink and Paint Club we presume. She's standing in the spotlight and has her usual coy grin. Her face is a bit off here. The lips and eye don't seem as correct as they should be. Her bust also appears to be a little toned down. All the colors are correct though, and the print work on the mug is well done. The mug also has a little dimension to it. So the image is not prited on a flat surface, there are raised areas on both the front and back images.

The back end of the mug does not tone anything down. This kind of mug is not something I suspected to see for Jessica - as it would certainly have to deal with her many curves! They didn't skimp here. The backless dress goes as far down as it dangerously can, and they had no issue with highlighting her back end either. We see over her shoulder where she is facing, and there are lights or camera flashes from her adoring crowd.

These mugs were widely available in all Disney Parks, and I think they may have even ended up on Disney's outlet website for a time. There was also a Roger Rabbit mug that had come out some years before in a light blue color. The mugs go together very well and both of them come up on eBay often.

The Jessica Rabbit Double-Sided Mug gets a 4. It's a great mug that can certainly be used normally and hold up through time. The face could have looked a little better though.

This pin has been available through the Japan Disney Store, but has taken quite a long time to show up in the US. There is no official release date, but the collection, celebrating what would have been Walt Disney's 110 birthday, features pins of various movies being released each Monday on DisneyStore.com. Keep checking in the coming weeks. Each pin is on a special backer card to commemorate the occasion.Roger, along with Benny the Cab and Jessica, are featured in this set to honor their achievements as classic Disney characters in a groundbreaking movie. Jessica will feature glitter fill on her dress.

The Dick Tracy Store 1990

While searching youtube, I came across a video which confirms the Jessica's store was originally the Dick Tracy store. The video states that this is August of 1990. This means that before Jessica's came along, the Dick Tracy store was housed in that very same building. It also means the Jessica's store was open for a shorter time. The Jessica's store was operating in 1991, as I was fortunate enough to pay a visit. It was closed in 1992 when I went back a year later. This means it could have only been open about a year and a half, not three years as I previously thought.

D23 Expo 2011

Here are some photos from the D23 Expo in California. Jessica Rabbit does have some presence there, especially since one of the featured movies with props on display is Who Framed Roger Rabbit. There was a Jessica Rabbit fine are painting hanging in the halls of the Expo. This is a very art deco piece, with Jessica sitting on what appears to be Benny the Cab upon closer inspection. This painting has never been seen before, and its use of vibrant colors and artistic edges make this a stunning Jessica Rabbit piece. Thanks to Andoni for this photo.

You can sign up for their newsletter to get a coupon code good for $10 off. Jessica Rabbit Premium Format Exclusive

The Jessica Rabbit Premium Format just made its official debut on the Sideshow Collectibles website just mere minutes ago and there is already a swarm of backlash over the Exclusive version being offered. People were hoping for some sort of additional piece to be added on or to go alongside with the Jessica Rabbit Premium Format figure, however the Exclusive piece has been revealed to be an art print of the statue itself, with Jessica's autograph and kiss.

There is further disappointment that the exclusive print does not have the same face as the statue. I believe that the statue face looks much more accurate than the print. Both are good facial representations of Jessica - but one would assume that the print and statue should at least match, though it states it is still "pending license approval." The print is definitely a stunning piece, however, people are not satisfied with the $325 price tag if the print is the only Exclusive being offered. I should note that normally, the Exclusive version is more expensive than the regular version - but in the case of Jessica, both the normal version and exclusive version will be the same price.

Everything from, "I'll pass on this statue," to "All those options and we get a print," is being said on various statue message boards. People have even voiced their strong opinions on Sideshow's Facebook page. Aside from the Exclusive and price-point issues, there is annoyance with some people at the bunching of Jessica's dress at the hip and waist area in the photo. There are others who are saying they will definitely buy this and are impressed by Sideshow's brilliant work.

At first, there was no mention or photos of the Penguin waiter, but a short while after people were voicing their frustration on message boards that the Penguin may have been a scrapped idea, Sideshow updated their Jessica PF post to include photos of the Penguin waiter.

Take one look at this statue. Tell me it isn't one of THE best Jessica Rabbit collectibles you have ever seen. This is as "screen accurate" as any Jessica collectible has gotten. I will agree the print is a bit of a let down - but mainly because the face does not match the actual statue. The Penguin is a nice touch, but if you recall, Jessica and the Penguin, although both working at the Ink and Paint Club, do not share any screen time together.

The price is a bit high. In this economy, any break will help, but then again if you are spending money on collectibles in this economy, you really shouldn't be complaining about much. There will be a Flex Pay option available that will allow you to break up the payment on a schedule, rather than paying all at once. From what I understand, only the Exclusive version requires a NRD (non-refundable deposit) of 10% the final price - which would be $32.50. Alhough it's hard to overlook that this statue is twice the price of the Jessica Big Figure, you cannot deny the work is far superior. I think it is worth getting. It supports Sideshow and their fantastic artists, keeping them in business and allowing them to bring us such art that we might not get to see otherwise. They have a long track record of beautiful work - with characters spanning various movies and genres. It's hard to nail every detail correctly, especially with two-dimensional animated characters, but I think the Jessica Rabbit Premium Format will not disappoint when we see it in person.

The long awaited Jessica Rabbit Premium Format Figure will be available for pre-order on Thursday, August 18th. That's just one week away! Sideshow Collectibles will also reveal full photos and info on August 16th, which only gives you a day to make that final decision on this pricy statue. It will sell for around $325. There are normally two versions, a regular and an Exclusive. The exclusive version usually sells for a bit more money. As of now there is no word if that Penguin waiter will be the exclusive piece, or if Sideshow has something different planned. After pre-orders, it is normally several months before the statues are sent out and you should not be charged until then, but you will need to submit credit card info to reserve it.

Angel Jones from Fish Police

Angel is from the very short lived 1992 Hanna-Barbera cartoon Fish Police. The tv show was loosly based on a comic book that came out in the 80's - but the show didn't strike a note with many. The TV version of Angel was an exact copy of Jessica Rabbit. She even says to Fish City's Inspector Gil in the first episode, "I'm not bad, I just Smell that way." (Which was originally reedited as, "I'm not bad, I'm good. Very good!" when it was shown on CBS.) Angel worked as a singer in a nightclub called The Shell Shack and is suspected of murdering crime boss Clams Casino. JoBeth Williams supplied Angel's speaking and singing voice.

Ink and Paint Club Preproduction Photo

Here is an Extra Special Exclusive photo behind the scenes at the Ink and Paint Club during Jessica Rabbit's performance. Until now, we have not seen any photos of Jessica's "stand-in" for this scene. Her human stand-in, for at least one scene, was actress Betsy Brantley. I'm not sure if the woman we see here is Betsy, but it gives you some idea just how much we still have not seen when it comes to the creation of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

Jessica was not drawn over a real woman for the entire movie - as no human could possibly fit her proportions, but for a few seconds in the movie a real woman was required for the hand movements on Marvin Acme's cheeks, lifting Eddie's hat and coat, and grabbing his tie. This actress also served as a guide for the extras sitting around to look at during rehearsals - so when they filmed the real scene and she was not there, the extras could remember where they are supposed to look.

As you will see in the photo below, Eddie's table is set a bit further back from the stage where it is supposed to be - probably to allow room for the camera to move. The actress can be seen directly to the left of Eddie, standing in a tight body suit. It appears the scene being filmed is when Jessica has just been sitting on Eddie's lap and pushed his hat into his face, then gets up to go back on the stage.

Pin Preview - Jessica Rabbit Decades Series

The Disney Soda Fountain and Studio Store is certainly picking up where DisneyStore.com left off. Coming August 4th is a guitar series featuring Tinker Bell, Mickey Mouse, Chip & Dale, and Jessica. Each is the usual limited edition of 300.

A friend of ImNotBad.com is attending Comic Con and tells us he was informed at the Sideshow booth that "so far" there is no exclusive version of the Jessica Rabbit Premium Format, and the Penguin waiter will come packed in with all Jessica statues. The pre-order was said to not be for six months, as this statue is all in its beginning stages, and the version we are seeing is still a prototype.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #38 - WDI Costume Pins

Back in May 2011, a surprised Jessica Rabbit pin series was released. There have been a lack of Jessica pins released online, but they are still trickling out at the parks little by little. However, this series was exclusive to Disney Imagineers. You could still get them off someone on eBay - and possible trading them in parks - but Jessica Rabbit costume pins are among the most coveted. So is this series worth getting at the inflated auction prices? Read On to Find Out!

I was never a fan of surprises. As of late - with Jessica Rabbit pins especially, any release seems to be a surprise. DisneyStore.com has not sold any Jessica pins since February (not including the one train set which you must be a D23 Member to buy). Disney Soda Fountain Studio Store in California has seemed to pick up some of the slack, releasing a few Jessica pins a month. That's a far cry from the deluge of pins we would have to fight for in the middle of the night each week from DisneyStore.com. Either way, the huge cut-back is Jessica pins is evident.

Not a fan of surprises, I'm less a fan of ultra exclusives. So when the Jessica Rabbit Disneyland WDI (Walt Disney Imagineering) series was released - it seemed like this was yet another of those sets I would never get. Luckily, for a price, I was able to. They were originally released somewhere on Disneyland property, in a store for cast members only for $9.95 each. I paid about twice as much for each, but that seems to be the going price. I didn't know if these pins were going to be hanging around too long, so I wasn't going to take it for granted.

Each pin shows Jessica Rabbit dressed from one of Disneyland's iconic characters. The first is Jessica Rabbit as The Evil Queen from the Snow White's Scary Adventure ride. The scene is from the window at the ride entrance. You occasionally will see The Evil Queen part the curtains and look down at you. This pin is cute, but you would hardly recognize this as Jessica and not just the Queen herself. There is a special clear fill to the brown background, but the rest of the pin is the usual.

The second pin was a little difficult for people to place at first. Jessica Rabbit is dressed as the Gibson Girl from the Gibson Ice Cream Parlor on Main Street. There is nothing fancy about this pin, its pretty straightforward. We clearly see it's Jessica this time though, and we all see both of her eyes since they styled her hair just as the Gibson Girl's.

Jessica Rabbit as The Red Head from Pirates of the Caribbean is one people have wanted to see for a long time. There was one other pin that was similar, but this is the first official time she's dressed as "Scarlett" as many call her. This pin features red glitter on her hat, top and inner dress. This is the best pin of the four, and one every Jessica fan should have.

There seems to be some confusion on the last pin. It is Jessica Rabbit from the Haunted Mansion ride, but some people think she is dressed as Little Leota. I would say she is dressed as Constance, the new bride. You can see how similar they are. Little Leota wears her hair down and has a much different dress than Constance - so I say this is Jessica as the Haunted Mansion Bride. Disney updated the older bride's in both parks in the last years with the newer Constance, and it's a much better effect than the old bride - yet many people were still fond of her, too. Again, another regular pin, with no glitter or special fill. This is a little disappointing since this pin could have used that extra touch.

Each card is very different than we usually see. It's a dark blue cardboard, with a sliver Imagineering logo on the top ear - and also has Jessica's name imprinted in silver at the bottom.

The back of the card is plain white, and also states that it is a Walt Disney Imagineer Exclusive. There is what seems to be some sort of printed code along the side of the card. Disney had started to do this in an effort to stop counterfeit pins from being sold or released, but normally would also print a matching number on the back of the pin as well.

The back of the pin shows no printed code, but again shows that it's an Imagineer Exclusive, and also that it is a Limited Edition of 300. This has become a typical number for park released pins as of late. There is also the proper Disney/Amblin mark on the back too.

This is a great series, and as with all Jessica Rabbit costume pins, I suspect these will be hard to come by soon. There is a very limited amount of them showing up on eBay, so there isn't much opportunity to get them.

The Jessica Rabbit WDI Character Costume Pin Series gets a 4. It's a great series if you can get them all. The pins are a little small, and lack a lot of flair - but with the special card and effort to make Jessica look like the actual characters makes it worth picking up - especially since they were only for Imagineers.

Jessica Rabbit

After the film, Jessica also appeared in the Roger Rabbit/Baby Herman shorts; Tummy Trouble as a nurse, Roller Coaster Rabbit as a damsel in distress and Trail Mix-Up as a park ranger. She also appeared frequently in the Roger Rabbit comic book series and she had her own feature in most issues of Roger Rabbit's Toontown such as Beauty Parlor Bedlam where she comes face to face with her female weasel counterpart Winnie.

With the success of the film and upon the opening of Disney’s MGM Studios on May 1, 1989, the film’s characters had great presence within the company. After taking the Backlot Tram Tour, various props decorated the streets. This is where you had two different photo opportunities with Jessica. For regular photos, a glittery cardboard cutout awaited you by a green brick wall and nearby, The Loony Bin photo shop allowed you to take pictures in costume standing next to an actual cartoon drawing of characters from the movie. There was also a plethora of merchandise such as t-shirts and the infamous Jessica Rabbit rub-on stickers called "pressers."

Disagreements between the Disney Company, Amblin Entertainment and Gary Wolf (jointly owning rights to the characters) made it difficult for any merchandise or projects to get off the ground and caused the halt of a short film Hare in my Soup and the next film Who Discovered Roger Rabbit. In this prequel, Roger meets his bride-to-be, Jessica Krupnick, who is not yet exactly the sultry toon we had come to know. A completed score by Alan Silvestri is said to exist as well as test footage and computer generated versions of the characters. Also cancelled was an animated TV series, which was replaced by a show called Bonkers about a feline cop. Many park attractions never got out of development, like Roger Rabbit's Hollywood and Baby Herman's Runaway Buggy.

In 2000, MGM Studios stopped using any character memorabilia in the park but some props are still present. Across from the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular show, a Maroon Cartoon sign with Roger, Jessica and Baby Herman still remains.

Who Stole Jessica Rabbit

Conjoined with MGM Studios opening was that of Pleasure Island, Disney’s nightclub attraction and shopping area. Included was the Jessica’s store that featured nothing but Jessica Rabbit merchandise. From her own signature nightgowns and jewelry to shower curtains and beach towels, the Jessica’s store had it all. A giant two-sided neon Jessica sign with sequined dress and swinging leg sat atop the light purple colored building. A floor to ceiling windowed corner of the store allowed light to shine in during the day and a great fireworks view at night. Another corner of the store had a large stage door with Jessica’s name on it. There was a cardboard cutout of Jessica reclining above the cash register area and another of Jessica, Roger and Benny the Cab. Cast members wore regular uniforms and there were no special shopping bags or print material for the store other than mention in the Pleasure Island guide map where they invited people to visit this "torch singer’s boutique." The store was abruptly closed some time in 1993 only to rumor that Jessica was "too sexy" for Disney. The large neon Jessica sign was relocated to another area of the park along side a Pleasure Island Tonight! sign where it stayed for many years until it was removed in June of 2006.

Jessica's Secret

In 1994, the Roger-based attraction Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin opened in a new Toontown section of the Disneyland park. This area was inspired by the Who Framed Roger Rabbit film and included, shops, character houses and rides. As part of the ride queue, passengers walk through the dark streets of Toon Town and see the shadows of Jessica and the Weasels walk by windows and hear their plot to kidnap her. There is also a glimpse of a complaining Baby Herman. On this entirely dark-light ride, you board Lenny the Cab, Benny’s cousin, and race through streets, back alleys and buildings. Jessica can first be seen in the beginning tied up in the trunk of Smart Ass Weasel's and then later with a giant mallet making her escape at the ride's end. Tokyo Disneyland also has a version of this ride and both are still very popular attractions.

In the early days of Toontown's opening, there was a fake magazine resting on an easy chair in Minnie Mouse's house entitled Jessica's Secret. "Hoppy" Anniversary

Even with the success of the ride, Jessica and co. disappeared not too long after their big debut, leaving behind a multitude of confused and disappointed fans. Sporadic merchandise was produced, such as an embroidered baseball-style shirt, The Jessica Rabbit doll, a Classics Collection statue of the couple and a Jinglin’ Jessica and Merry Melodies Roger Christmas ornament set. However the 15th Anniversary Edition of Who Framed Roger Rabbit on DVD was a great tribute and long-awaited shot in the arm for the film and caused enough of a stir to revive these characters.

Relaxed, Refreshed, Reanimated

With the DVD release in 2003 and with the pin collecting craze already underway, Jessica herself made a splash with her Aloha, from Jessica pin, featuring the sultry toon in a bikini and grass skirt. It didn’t take long for people’s interest to be renewed and various pins were released each month, often selling out the same day. After time, a diverse array of Jessica pins were created featuring her playing sports, visiting New York City, dressed for various holidays and events and just being her "not bad" self with pins utilizing glitter accents, movement and multiple layers. These pins range from simple to elaborate.

The Nurses Association vs. Jessica Rabbit

A seemingly harmless hobby, some pins have become quite notable and notorious. One being the 2004 Nurses Day Jessica depicting Jessica dressed as a nurse from the Tummy Trouble short. Several complaints from the Nursing Association forced Disney to pull this pin off the store shelves. A very similar pin was released the year before and sold out within a few hours, however the 2004 pin included a Nurses Day logo.

An unnamed author of the Nursing Advocacy wrote: "At least 300 Nurses wrote to protest Disney's sultry Jessica Rabbit nurse pins..." "Within 48 hours of starting our campaign, Disney agreed to 'remove the pins from sale." "Therefore we are asking Disney to make amends to the profession by supporting activities to repair the harm that has been done to nursing's image."

Then-Executive Director, Sandy Summers, writes to Michael Eisner, "I am writing to urge you to end the sale of Disney's Jessica Rabbit 2004 Nurses Week pin and to refrain from 'honoring' nurses in the future with such pins. The sexually suggestive Jessica Rabbit pin, which reinforces the harmful 'naughty nurse' stereotype that has long plagued our profession, is not a good way to thank the skilled, hard-working nurses who are fighting a critical nursing shortage and associated short-staffing to save patients' lives." "In addition to retiring the Jessica Rabbit nurse pin, I encourage you to make amends to the nursing profession by supporting efforts to improve public understanding of the profession in a tangible way."

According to the Nursing Advocacy website, then-secretary David K Thompson of the Disney Company responded, "I hope you understand that no offense was intended in the release of the pin. Jessica Rabbit remains a very popular member of the Disney family of characters. Nonetheless, we understand your concern and have taken action to remove the pin from sale."

Upon the Associations call for a public apology, The Disney Company declined.

Another famous pin is the Jessica Movie Star Jumbo which features Jessica dressed as Marilyn Monroe (not to be confused with a similar Marilyn style pin released as part of the Jessica in Hollywood set on DisneyShopping.com). Being immediately dubbed the "Holy Grail" of Jessica pins, it was a limited edition of 100 and all were legitimately sold for $103 on Disney Auctions website. Days later, Disney sent out a statement to most bidders and claimed the pins were "not available" at the time of auction and that no one would be billed unless the pins arrive. Frantic pin buyers, who frequent such websites and DizPins and PinPics, banded together and contacted Disney cast members over several weeks by phone and email, only to be told the pins were "lost" and that no one would receive them. An attendee of the 2006 It All Started With Walt Pin Event photographed one of these pins as part of a prize package Disney was giving away, although that pin was an Artist Proof. This soon became a common occurrence with such pins said to be missing as Jessica Back to School and Jessica and Roger at the Beach, after bidding was complete. This may or may not be related to Disney Auctions closing in 2006.

Time To "TOON" In Again

The Disney Store in New York became the World Of Disney. Disney’s Catalog was discontinued and they also changed their website address three different times. Yet with all this controversy, Jessica fans saw merchandise continue to flow and as commonly as some of Disney's hottest characters; Stitch, Tinker Bell, and Maleficent. Disney began selling their precious pins on-line through Disney Shopping and listing them in the middle of the night. Many people quickly caught on and buyers were often disappointed to see Jessica pins, limited to 100 or 250, sold out by mid-morning.

More items soon followed such as a life-sized Big Figure, statues, shirts, snow globes and of course, pins. Disney Paris offered it's own character-accurate statue in 2006 while Tokyo Disney created dramatic and colorful stationary in 2007. Even Roger himself was not getting as much attention as his voluptuous wife, so it is now common to see him alongside his toon bride. By the close of 2006, the "goth-trendy" store Hot Topic became the first retail chain since 1988, other than Disney, to offer Jessica memorabilia and continued to surprise fans with edgy couture of this Disney diva.

When looking at the jewelry created by Wendy Gell, I feel that Disney certainly became inspired by her work in more recent years – as proof with their own pavé crystal pins becoming a staple in their Holiday Princess series. Wendy’s sculpted pins were quite different from the flat cloisonné pins we know today, but she was the first to use crystals on Disney character pins – and the first to create a Jessica Rabbit series. She also pioneered the movement of putting characters in different costumes – something that is now very common with modern day pins. What was her experience like working at Disney? Which real-life Princess received a Jessica Rabbit pin? What was Disney’s opinion of the Jessica character? Find out!

Through the Seventies and on into the Eighties, Wendy Gell's designs were on the cover of Vogue and in thousands of editorials in magazines all over the world. Wendy created sequined Disney characters such as Roger and Jessica Rabbit, Wizard of Oz jewelry, and masks from The Phantom of the Opera. She designed special pieces for Bill Blass, Oscar de laRenta, and Louis Dell'Olio. Her company specialized in a "different" look that is very whimsical and unique. Many of the fabulous large cuff bracelets were one-of-a-kind or part of a limited edition.

Her worldwide client list includes celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Isabella Rossilini, and Cher. Wendy Gell jewelry can also be found in the private collections of: Elizabeth Taylor, Elton John, Hillary Clinton, the late Andy Warhol and Princess Diana.

Now Wendy is back designing not only jewelry but paintings and various gifts as well. She creatively adorns mirrors, dolls, goblets and more with the same pop art style she is known for.

I was honored to have a phone interview with Wendy Gell, and she shed so much light on the beginnings of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and gave details about one of the very first Jessica Rabbit collectibles ever – her amazing and highly sought after pins.

ImNotBad:
Your merchandise was among the very first Jessica Rabbit items to ever be released. Even in the early days of the Disney Store, they had your work sold in there quite often.

Wendy Gell:
Yes. It was great. The pins were sold at the parks also.

INB:
How did you start working for Disney?

Wendy:
I was at the Prêt-à-Porter I think, a trade show in New York. I had my line out there. A lady came by and asked if I’d be interested in having a Disney license. I was just so excited. Time went by and we signed the contract. We didn’t know how extensive it would be at first.

INB:
Do you remember the first pins you created for Disney?

Wendy:
There was a series of Mickey and Minnie. There was a bigger five inch pavé pin of Mickey and also pavé earrings that were about two inches. We had the characters in unusual situations. I had Minnie as The Statue of Liberty and Daisy Duck as Marilyn Monroe. I also created Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

INB:
Over the years, Disney began to utilize different materials on their pins, like pavé crystals. I can’t help but think that your work somehow influenced that.

Wendy:
Oh yes. Before that, Mickey Mouse never really had rhinestones on him.

INB:
What was your experience like working at Disney?

Wendy:
When I was working on a Fantasia product, we worked with really cool artists at Disney. We were originally supposed to design a scarf but it was made into a poster. I worked with a woman and she talked about what worked in design. She said, “big, little, big, little.” She was drawing the hippo and ostrich. I thought it was so funny. Then I designed where I wanted things to go and the border. It was really an honor to work with these people. I knew a lot of the old guys from Disney, the animators. We’d meet them at the conventions. A couple of them drew pictures for me and signed them. It was so much fun.

INB:
How did Disney approach you about creating Roger Rabbit merchandise?

Wendy:
Disney came to the licensees and presented a program. It was really fun to watch Disney at work. They were so professional. It was so fun and interesting. They presented a package, with folders of ideas, the colors used in the movie, different character poses. When I heard Disney and Warner Brothers were going to be working together for the first time I was excited at the idea of the marriage of the characters. Of course I signed on.

INB:
Did you begin to have ideas of what kinds of pins you wanted to create of the characters?

Wendy:
Yes, they gave us material too, and promotional video tapes with scenes and preproduction art from the movie. That was exciting. We flew to LA for a presentation with all the licensees of Disney from different divisions. Steven Spielberg was there. Michael Eisner was there. It was a fabulous party with this amazing buffet. Every event I went to that the Disney Company put on was just so fabulous. They are really good at that. It was great. I was going to meet Steven Spielberg at the cocktail party after, but that was the terrible Black Monday when the stock market crashed – the day of the Roger Rabbit meeting. Steven Spielberg disappeared; everybody disappeared to check with their brokers.

INB:
When you saw Jessica Rabbit, were you surprised by her sexy look?

Wendy:
Oh yeah, it was really sexy. Well, Betty Boop was sexy but there weren’t many sexy cartoon characters. There was Betty and Veronica, but Jessica was really the first one who was so sexy and glamorous. The voice was fantastic, and the artwork was mind-blowing. I immediately thought of a brooch, and that she would be in a dramatic, glamorous pose.

INB:
Can you explain a little about how the pins were created?

Wendy:
We had to have the Disney artist do the drawing for us so it would be perfect. We had a Disney model-maker create it in wax, as big as the pin was going to be. You could imagine how hard it was to get the face right being so small. Then it was cast in metal, they spin them around and the metal goes in to six different areas where it’s poured into the Jessica Rabbit mold. After that they sand it, they plate it - then we painted it and added pavé crystals. It’s a really expensive and lengthy process. They were probably $150 back in 1988.

INB:
Did you find that Roger and Jessica were popular characters?

Wendy:
I have no Roger Rabbit stuff left at all. I tried to keep one of each thing, but it just didn’t happen. People would beg me for them and I sold my last one – like the Roger Rabbit face with the big ears. Boy, do I wish I had one of those. There were plain metal and plain painted pins. The best were the ones that were pavé and enamel.

INB:
What do you think Disney’s opinion of the Jessica Rabbit character was? Were they afraid she was too sexy or shapely?

Wedny:
Jessica Rabbit was like the million-dollar babe. I thought they just adored her. I never heard anything negative. We went to a lot of parties and I never got anything that she was too sexy or they weren’t happy with her. Disney themselves gave Princess Diana a Jessica Rabbit pin and she absolutely loved it. Disney gave it at the premiere. So I would say that Disney was not afraid of Jessica Rabbit.

INB:
How was the Disney line you created received by people?

Wendy:
When I started my line, Disney was starting to do really creative stuff. When it hit it was just bonkers. Every city I went to I went on television. I was Oprah’s favorite jewelry designer. She had 37 pairs of my earrings. I was scheduled to go on her show. I just came back from a tour of the California Disney Stores and was so tired and didn’t know if I could do it. Her producers called and said, “Please, Oprah just loves your stuff and wants to have you on.” I said ok and she was just terrific. She said to her audience, “Because I love Wendy Gell so much, I wanted to share her with you.”

INB:
There are many celebrities that love your work. Do you have any stories you can share with us about celebrities and your Disney line?

Wendy:
Steven Spielberg’s office called my office and said they wanted to buy 12 champagne glasses or flutes. Each one was going to be decorated with a character from Roger Rabbit and he was going to have a party. I’m sure people at the party got to take them home. I imagine people like Kathleen Turner and everyone from the inner circle could have been there.

Bernadette Peters also has a Jessica pin I gave her when we were at The Outsider Art Show in New York. I ran into her and she was telling me how much she liked my jewelry, so I took my Jessica Rabbit pin off my jacket and gave it to her. Instead of pinning it on her dress she stuck in between her bosoms with Jessica sticking out - close to her heart.

I was actually supposed to meet Michael Jackson one time when I was doing a show at the Disney Store. He collected my stuff. He liked to collect the pavé and painted pins. We wound up going to different stores, so I didn’t get to meet him. But, I got a really nice picture of him written in big magic marker saying, “Wendy, Love you. Thanks, Michael Jackson.”

I also heard that Princess Diana became interested in my work after she got the Jessica Rabbit pin.

INB:
What are some of the more rare Disney items in your collection?

Wendy:
I have a Jessica Rabbit corduroy jacket Disney gave to licensees. It was a limited edition. There is a Jessica Rabbit scarf I designed. I also made a Jessica Rabbit silk shirt out of the scarves. There’s only one in the world. We also made gloves. I had appliqués made of beads – Jessica was sewn on one hand and Roger on the other. I think I still have a few left. I have a really rare one we did from Dick Tracy. It’s Mickey Mouse wearing the Dick Tracy hat. I have some Dick Tracy jewelry still. I have the radio watches that are pavé and enamel. We also made the little yellow hats. Someone from Disney bought a set I made that was Snow White and all the Seven Dwarfs on a goblet. That’s a real collector’s piece.

INB:
They have talked about a Roger Rabbit sequel for so long. Do you have any knowledge on it?

Wendy:
Disney wanted something so utterly different than the first Roger Rabbit movie. I have a script that was never made. [Roger Rabbit creator] Gary Wolfe collects my stuff. We know each other. He liked the Jessica pins a lot. He wrote a script that had my name in it. One of the characters was named Wendy, a wannabe actress who was Jessica Rabbit’s roommate. I thought that was cool.

INB:
Were there any items you had in mind that never got produced?

Wendy:
I had large pins made of plastic I wanted to sell on the mass market for about $25. I did that with Baby Herman and also Jessica Rabbit. I did a four inch Jessica Rabbit pin in a different pose that didn’t go into production. Some Baby Herman’s did get made but they are super rare.

INB:
Of all the character jewelry you created, who is the most popular?

Wendy:
The two best selling characters of all time were Jessica Rabbit and The Tin Man. I did many characters. Dorothy, Cinderella – but Jessica was pretty much number one, next to Tin Man.

INB:
Jessica Rabbit had her own store. Did you ever get a chance to visit it?

Wendy:
Yes my stuff was in there. We headed to Disney World for an event and I saw that store.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #37 - Pressers

The list of quintessential Jessica Rabbit collectibles from 1988 is rather short. There were some shirts, the flexie doll, a PVC figure - and then there were the infamous Jessica Rabbit Pressers. What was so infamous about them? Read on...

Back when Who Framed Roger Rabbit was released, the main focus on merchandise was Roger himself. Very little was released with Jessica, and most times you would see her along side him when something was released. It's funny how time has certainly changed that! One of the few sole Jessica items is the Jessica Rabbit Pressers.

Many of you might recall these types of "stickers." They were actually rub-on transfers. The images were on a plastic sheet. With use of a coin (or unless it included a wand like the Disney pressers did) you put the pressers face down on paper, and would rub it with the wand. It would come off the plastic sheet and remain on the surface you applied it to.

There were fourteen different Jessica images per sheet (her look seemed to be toned down a little) and only one of them images included her kissing Roger - making it a fairly uncommon item to really give the attention all to her. Most images were fairly new and even not really used anymore. Jessica applying make-up on the beach, Jessica holding a rolling pin?!, Jessica with a boa, and Jessica with her dress lifting up like Marilyn Monroe.

The original Jessica Rabbit Pressers

What exactly is so infamous about them? Well, I'm not sure if I have been making some of that up all along - yet I recall being told either the pressers sold out fast or were pulled off the shelves. It's hard to remember from so long ago, but one thing I kept hearing was that Jessica was too shapely for Disney. This seems to contradict the fact that they gave her a Jessica Rabbit store, so perhaps that's just something I believed at the time. Nevertheless, one can't deny the curious way they presented Jessica sitting with one leg up (above, left). It seems one of the lines was drawn a bit too long - making it appear that her - well, you know how it appears. The other image of her with a leg up makes an odd alteration to her dress in an effort by the artist to combat any thought that there may be some exposed areas (above, right). This is what obviously had to make it difficult on Disney with such a character. Ample bosom, tight dress, lots of curves. It's a wonder how the design for her was approved at all. So, when it came to merchandise, it was probably easier to use the character as little as possible and alter her design when necessary.

Above are two version of the Jessica Rabbit pressers that I enhanced. The small comic book-like dots are taken out and they have been recolored. I also added a color variation. They are in high quality so you can save or print them too!

The Jessica Pressers were not alone however. There was also a set of Benny The Cab, Toontown characters, and Roger of course. I did have these when they originally came out but used them eventually. Luckily I found them all on eBay - except for Roger - selling for a really low price. I do not seem them on there much lately and I have no doubt they will all be on the list of rare items in the future.

The Jessica Rabbit Pressers get a 4. There isn't much to not like about them. Lots of awesome Jessica images rarely seen. I'm not sure how these will hold up over time though. The best thing I could think to do with them was open them and scan them high quality as they are not like stickers, are fragile transfer images and cannot be reused.

Jessica Rabbit Pin News

Finally there are some Jessica Rabbit pins showing up, although their availability is quite limited. First is the Disneyland Paris Jessica Rabbit Jumbo. It was available on their pin trading night at the Hotel Santa Fé on May 27, 2011 and sold for €39.95. It is a limited edition of 400 and there are glitter and glow elements on this pin. It's quite rare and has not shown up much on ebay since its release. There are no measurements for the pin yet but it is noted as being pretty heavy.

Next we have a Train Pin Set. Finally Jessica shows up on DisneyStore.com after a long absence. However, this set is not available to everyone. You can only buy it if you are a member of the D23 Club. This requires a membership and yearly fee to join the club - which seems to be a sort of Disney fan club of sorts, giving discounts and exclusive pins like this particular set. Interestingly, most train sets so far have the train facing left to right - with the first car to the far left. This pin is moving in the opposite direction - with Mickey to the right in the first car. He's followed by Jessica, who is laying out on what looks like a teal, pink and purple couch - showing a lot of leg of course and looking more seductive that she ever has on a pin before. The other characters are Tinker Bell, Chip & Dale, and Stitch. Each pin also has a jewel element on the train wheels.

Disney Soda Fountain Studio Store in California is offering an LE 300 pin of Jessica Rabbit on stage with Roger playing the sax. This pin will only be available in the Soda Fountain Studio store beginning on June 18th.

Jessica Voted Top Screen Siren

According to The Daily Record in the UK, "Jessica Rabbit has been named the top screen siren - ahead of real-life stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.

The red-haired vamp and nightclub jazz singer topped a poll by Lovefilm to mark Marilyn Monroe's 85th birthday.

Jessica featured in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit and was voiced by Kathleen Turner.

Hepburn - star of Breakfast At Tiffany's - was runner-up, while Monroe, who died in 1962, finished third in the list.

Also highly ranked were sex symbols Raquel Welch, famed for her animal skin-clad role in One Million Years BC, and Ursula Andress, who earned notoriety for her white bikini scene in James Bond film Dr No.

Fliss White, marketing executive at online streaming and DVD rental service Lovefilm, said: "On the anniversary of one of cinema's most celebrated stars, it seems only fitting to remember the classic sirens who have lit up our screens over the past century.

"It's really interesting to see that an animated film star topped the list ahead of real-life Hollywood stars like Marilyn herself."

The P-P-P-Perfect Crime
While I was never originally a fan of Robot Chicken, their humor has become a lot more based on parodies from many retro shows and movies like He-Man, Strawberry Shortcake, Flintstones, Star Wars - and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Becoming a regular viewer of the show, I hoped there would be at least one Roger and Jessica parody, and finally I happened to catch it on tv. In the Roger Rabbit skit, The P-P-P-Perfect Crime, Jessica and Baby Herman are seen sharing some suggestive conversation - when O.J. Simpson jumps out from the bushes.

We flash back to a week earlier and see Roger trying to convince O.J. to kill Jessica and he will kill O.J.'s wife in return. O.J. does not want to do it but Roger goes ahead with the plan anyway. When we go back to Jessica and Baby Herman, we see O.J. jumped from behind the bushes to warn them that Roger is crazy (in spite of the fact he is carrying a knife, dressed all in black and called Jessica a bitch.)

Roger comes forward, saying he should have never trusted O.J.'s kind - which angers him. Roger insists he meant not to trust "humans," but O.J. kills Roger in a rage. The skit is quite dark and violent, but such is the humor of the show. The Jessica stop-motion puppet looks to be an original creation, although her dress is the one used on the Mattel Jessica Rabbit doll.

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #36 - Collector Pack Figure

Back in 2007, Disney releases Series Five of their Collector Pack Mini-figures. If you were like me, you didn't even know there was a series one through four. Series Five finally contained some Roger Rabbit figures - one being Jessica of course!

There are not many Jessica Rabbit collectibles that are only one inch tall - but over time, it might be one of the more valuable. Disney has created several mini-figures that came out in the 1960's called Disneykins. The characters used were ones from back around that time like Snow White and Peter Pan. They continued to make characters up until around the 70's with Robin Hood amongst the last. I'm not sure when the newer version of the Disneykins made there debut (around 2003 and now called Disney Collector Figures), but they have become pretty popular and are now up to Series Twelve.

The figures come sold in packs of three, for around $5.99 each. This is a mystery set, so you don't know which three out of eighteen figures you will get. For Series Five, they included not only Jessica Rabbit, but also Roger and Benny the Cab.

When a figure is so small, there is only so much you can do in terms of detail and paint application. However the Jessica Rabbit music box had a similar small figure inside and the detail seems better there than on this mini collector pack figure - although this figure is actually smaller than the music box. The paint lines are sloppy and Jessica form is a bit bigger at certain areas, like her waist and arms. There is no purple eyelid and her eye seems to be a standard printed-on one at best.

Over the years it seems the details have gotten better on these figures. The latest Star Wars figure is leaps and bounds better than the first one. So in time, if they keep making these figures, I assume we will see better paint application and figure detail. They seem to come out at random but can be found easily on eBay at any given time.

These figures are very tiny, so you may want to buy the collector pack storage book for $10.99 to store your figures if you plan on buying more than a few. I think with their small size they may easily get lost and become something more sought after over time.

The Jessica Rabbit Disney Collector Pack Figure gets a 3½. There is not much to this other than a tiny collector figure, but it is inexpensive and does not take up a lot of room. The paint and details are not great, but I have to give points for this Jessica figure even coming out, as it's one of the very few Jessica figures to be released in a series along with other Disney characters.

Back in 2003, his former wife, "Miss Elizabeth" Hulette, who also worked with him as his manager for many years in the wrestling business died suddenly. I was shocked and saddened then, and I am equally as such now. They were my reason for ever watching wrestling when my father was alive, and the wrestling moments that are silly television entertainment to many gave me years of fond memories. I spoke to Miss Elizabeth during a radio interview, and met Randy Savage just months after my father died. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

When it comes to the Holy Grail of Jessica Rabbit pins, the Movie Star Jumbo is definitely the one that stands out as the most desired, and most notorious, of all pins. What really did happen, and why is it so important? Read on to find out more!

Back in the summer of 2006, the Jessica Rabbit pin craze was in full swing. There had been around 50 Jessica pins released during the first half of 2006 alone, and so much more on the way. Many of the pins from that time frame had been the coveted Disney Auctions LE 100 pins that fetch a hefty price now. What set the Disney Auctions pins apart from other pins was the quality, low edition size, and the artwork. So when the art you see to the left appeared on Disney Auctions - pin collectors and Jessica fans drooled uncontrollably.

The pose is of course borrowed from screen legend Marilyn Monroe during her infamous scene from The Seven Year Itch. While it was not officially called Jessica as Marilyn Monroe, the Disney Auctions description read: Jessica Rabbit gets a case of the seven-year itch, imitating a famous movie star of the past on this gorgeous gold-finished character pin, a Disney Auctions exclusive in a limited edition of 100 jumbo pins. Before bidding had even ended, Disney pin websites and newsboards had already started calling it the Holy Grail of Jessica Rabbit pins. Clearly this was the pin to have!

However, a big problem arose with this pin. While I cannot remember what the starting bid was for the pin, the ending bid for all 100 pins finalized at $105 each. That's quite a lot to spend on one pin. I was one of the lucky high bidders and couldn't wait to get it. Then - Disney started to send out emails (which I never did get) claiming that these pins were not available at the time of the auction. Collectors were frantic and started to call and email Disney Auctions to find out what happened. Unfortunately, no one got a straight answer and all we were left with was that the pins were "lost" and that we would not be billed. I don't recall if people were told that they would be notified if the pins were found, but I'm pretty sure that would have been a standard answer from any company claiming to have lost their merchandise.

Disney lost a few other LE 100 Auctions Pins as well. This angered many people. Disney had already amassed many complaints from unhappy customers over a short time with claims of damaged merchandise and unfair return policies on limited merchandise. Run in part by eBay, they had an extremely high negative feedback count, and eventually the Disney Auctions website closed not too long after this whole incident. Naturally, this left people assuming the missing pins would never turn up.

Two years passed, low and behold, the missing pins started to show up on DisneyShopping.com (including the Jessica Movie Star Jumbo.) None of the original bidders had been notified about this, and that particular Jessica pin was listed for sale on the website on a Friday. Many people know that it was common practice for Disney to only list pins on Monday mornings. I don't know of anyone who was actually able to buy the pin from the site that day, but the pins were sold out in record time - and sold for $20 each !!! That is a huge difference from the $105 bidding war which took place two years prior. To this day that was the only time pins had ever been listed for sale on a Friday.

I did eventually get this pin and I have to say it IS the best Jessica Rabbit pin out there. The pose is great. The work on it is fantastic - and being a jumbo pin it stands at almost 3 inches tall. There is even a hologram logo on the back which Disney created in order to stop the sale of unauthorized counterfeit pins which had started to become a big problem. The back of the pin is also embossed with the Disney Auctions logo. However, all this didn't stop people from trying to recreate this pin.

Above you will see a fake - and horribly create, Jessica pin. There is no mistaking this for the real thing. The work on it is terrible. There is no way anyone could mistake this for the real thing.

Jessica had a lot of luck dressing like film legend Marilyn Monroe. There have been two other pins released which have also become popular. One of them is the Jessica in Hollywood Cast Member Create-A-Pin from 2009. Jessica takes a stroll on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the classic white dress. The other is from the Jessica Rabbit in Hollywood set from 2006. Jessica's look is more accurate to the film and this time her hair matches that on Miss Monroe. The set was a LE 100 and are going up in price very quickly in the last year. This was another of those Jessica sets that sold out within minutes of release.

There are three other rare pins to add to this debacle. At the 2006 It All Started With Walt Pin Event, artist proofs of the Jessica Rabbit Movie Star Jumbo were part of a prize pin lot given out. There were the usual black, silver and gold metal proofs - only one of each. The one pictured left is the silver, and sold on eBay some years ago for over $500. I know the person who has this pin but I don't know about the other two. If anyone has them please send an email so I can put up photos - they are going to be quite the expensive collectors item some day.

The Jessica Rabbit Movie Star Jumbo gets a 5! This IS the Holy Grail of Jessica pins and has now rarely ever been seen. It could easily sell for a few hundred dollars today.

There is a NEW Imagineer pin set out featuring Jessica Rabbit. This is the first time Jessica has had her own WDI set but there have been single pins of her released before. WDI pins are normally only released to Disney Cast Members but do show up on eBay often. In this set, which could rival her Halloween Costume Series - Jessica is dressed as a Gibson Girl from the Disneyland Ice Cream Parlor, The Evil Queen from Snow White's Scary Adventures, Constance from The Haunted Mansion, and The Red Head "Scarlett" from Pirates of the Caribbean. So far, there have only been two official Jessica Rabbit dolls ever created. The most recent is by Tonner - but the first was by Mattel back in 1999. If anyone can recall, when a photo was released of the Jessica Rabbit Doll by Mattel - she looked amazing! Then, not too long after, an updated photo replaced the first one and showed that the doll had been changed significantly. This is something that happens for many reasons to products - but as for why it happened to the Jessica doll remained a mystery... Until Now! This exclusive interview with Jessica Rabbit Mattel Doll designer, Lisa Temming, uncovers the real reason the doll was changed, what other plans were supposed to be in store for the doll, the strong opinions Disney and Amblin had about Jessica, and the line of Jessica dolls that never happened. Lisa also shares with us never before seen photos of the original prototype and a special version she created.

First I'd like to let people know a little more about you. Do you remember what inspired you to become an artist?

Lisa Temming:
My family is a very creative bunch - so, from the moment I could hold a crayon, my Mom and Grandma were teaching me how to draw and design. At age 8, I decided I wanted to be a fashion designer (instead of an astronaut) and my family did everything they could to help me along that path.

INB:
As a child, which Disney film inspired you the most, and why?

Lisa:
I believe "Snow White" was one of the first Disney films I saw - I thought she was so beautiful and I desperately wanted to live in that cottage! But, my love for all things Disney started so early - it's hard for me to pinpoint exactly what started it.

INB:
What were some toys/figures/statues that you liked the most as a child - and now?

Lisa:
As a kid, I loved my Star Wars action figures and dolls. Even my Barbies dated Luke Skywalker instead of Ken. And my Legos - LOVED my Legos (they were a little more girl-friendly back then). I also made lots of outfits for my Barbies and Darci dolls - but, it was only as an adult (working at Mattel) that I saw the real art in them.

So, now I have more dolls than ever! My favorite is a beautifully detailed, 16" Corpse Bride doll by Jun Planning.

INB:
What was some of your very first professionally created works?

Lisa:
I started at Mattel in 1994, in the "Large & Small Doll" department. My first designs were outfits for a line called "Dream Babies". Then a whole bunch of stuff for Cabbage Patch dolls. Yikes! I really thought those dolls were scary! But, because of that, I begged to switch to the Disney team (of 2 people) within Mattel.

INB:
What was your reaction to the film, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and its characters?

Lisa:
Loved it! The integration of live-action and animation was so magical at the time. I loved the 40's crime film / private eye world - and how they celebrated the heyday of animated characters. Jessica, of course, steals the show! A Hollywood screen goddess as an animated character - voiced by Kathleen Turner - pure genius!

INB:
How did the idea to create the Jessica Rabbit doll come about?

Lisa:
I had started in the Disney collector doll business in 1996 and the idea to do her came up not long after, as I had hoped to have her released for the 10 year anniversary of the film in 1998. I kept tons of lists of potential characters we (the Disney team) could do dolls of - with notes of any upcoming anniversaries. Jessica and Roger were always on those lists because they were wonderful, memorable characters and would make great dolls. But, there was some hesitation from the team -in part, because we weren't sure if our license covered those characters. And there was some concern she would be too sexy and be received negatively by any press.

INB:
What was your role at Mattel and on creation of the Jessica doll?

Lisa:
In 1997 I was a Senior Project Designer in the (by now fully formed and very large) Disney group at Mattel. I came up with the idea to do a doll of her and was the lead designer on her. I proposed the idea to my upper management with a to scale 2D cutout, art directed the sculpting, painting, dressing, and styling of the prototype, then pitched her to Disney. I oversaw the entire process of approvals and production development, turning the prototype into the production doll. In Jessica's case, this took about a year and a half from concept to on shelf. The funny thing about toys - dolls in particular - that most people don't realize, is that it takes a huge team of people to make them! A designer, multiple sculptors, sample makers, hair rooters, face painters, packaging designers - not including the non-creative aspects like marketing, and production!

INB:
A big question about the Mattel doll is in regards to the prototype that was originally shown in an early promotion photo. The doll that was actually released had been changed and looks very different. What is the story behind that?

Lisa:
The prototype was made internally at Mattel - with only me directing her design. She was sculpted by an intern (I wish I could remember who did the work, unfortunately it's just been too long). She was a beautiful prototype. Her overall proportions and "attitude" were wonderful. It was important to me that she have her own body and that she should be a larger scale to showcase that uniquely "Jessica" shape. When the prototype was finished, everyone was in love with her. People from other groups (especially the Hot Wheels guys!) would come by just to see her. Then It was time to take her to Disney for approvals - this is where things got a little complicated.

INB:
How so?

Lisa:
Because Jessica was a "new" character in a film made by BOTH Touchstone/Disney and Amblin - they both had rights to her. Including rights to approve - or disapprove - of products for her. At every step in the development process, I had to show the doll to a Disney artist and a DreamWorks representative (Amblin having been folded into DreamWorks in late 1994). The Disney artist was a man, so naturally he was enthusiastic about Jessica. He was also a character artist, so he was completely focused on making the doll as "on character" as possible. The DreamWorks rep. was a woman. She was not very fond of Jessica. I think she saw Jessica as perpetuating negative body issues to real women. This lead to conflicts at every step of the approval process.

INB:
Can you recall how many things changed from the original doll you proposed?

Lisa:
Two major factors changed Jessica from being what I had hoped for her to be, dead-on character and funny. First, the DreamWorks rep. had us change her body CONSIDERABLY (i.e. major breast reduction surgery). Unfortunately, because of this, the doll lost some of her attitude and her proportions became a little off. The second factor was cost. The budget for Jessica was tight and a lot of it went to her new body and unique packaging.

INB:
Were there any other ideas or concepts that were changed?

Lisa:
I had wanted her purse be functional with a tiny hand gun or frying pan inside, to put a bear trap (even just a printed art) inside the front of her dress, and to give her removable shoes and a garter belt with stockings. (Oh well, at least I got to give her some pretty undies!) Also, because of cost, her body had to be roto-cast instead of injection molded.

INB:
Do you know if there were any other plans for more Jessica dolls by Mattel or by another company?

Lisa:
While working on Jessica, we talked about doing more dolls of her in a variety of other outfits like a Swimsuit edition (based on the photo in Roger's wallet) or her Nurse costume. If the doll sold well, re-releasing her in new looks would have helped amortize the cost of sculpting her new body. There were also plans to make Roger to go with her.

INB:
What was the reason for calling it the Jessica Rabbit WOW! Special Edition doll?

Lisa:
Honestly, I don't know why she was named that - I can only guess the "Wow!" had something to do with being able to trademark the name. "Special Edition" was possibly because she was a unique body - not a Barbie-body - or because she wasn't part of any current series.

INB:
Although it's by Mattel, it is a Jessica doll - not Barbie AS Jessica Rabbit - was there ever any ideas for an actual Barbie as Jessica?

Lisa:
As far as I know, there weren't any plans to do a "Barbie as" doll. But, now that Tonner has done a version, Barbie may want to get in on the fun!

INB:
What is your opinion of the Jessica Rabbit doll by Tonner?

Lisa:
Stunning! She's really beautiful - and exquisitely detailed. I'm a big fan of all of his dolls - especially some the new Disney Princesses.

INB:
What are some of your favorite dolls that you have created?

Lisa:
My favorites have always been in the Villains Series I did while at Mattel. Both Cruella De Vils, Ursula, The Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Jessica Rabbit - even though she wasn't part of that series, she had the same quality that made me love making the others - DRAMA!

INB:
What was Disney's REAL opinion of the Jessica Rabbit character?

Lisa:
Everyone at Disney that was involved with the doll (and even a few who weren't) was crazy for her! They were completely committed to making her as "on character" as possible - no hesitation. They all loved that we were making a doll of her.

INB:
Do you think Jessica started the movement/popularity for more sexy female collectible related merchandise - action figures, statues, etc?

Lisa:
I never really thought about it, but that could be true. Maybe she opened the door - or in her own way, pulled back the curtain...

Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #34 - Snowglobe Frame

Between 2006 - 2007, during Jessica Rabbit's pin collection craziness, a few different collectibles were also released. One being the Roger and Jessica Rabbit Snowglobe Frame. Disney had been plussing and adding to their snowglobes and the new one not only featured our favorite toons, but had some cool extras.

Snowglobes have been a Disney staple for quite a number of years. As of late, they have been getting more elaborate and have many added features to them. Snowglobes are either something you like, or you don't - but when one is released with your favorite (and rarely seen) characters - it's hard to resist buying. Snowglobes are bulky, heavy and can take up a lot of space. The Roger and Jessica Frame Snowglobe is one such item, however, Disney added something to actually make it more worthwhile for display.

First, there are the character elements. Jessica looks fantastic, even though there is some paint slop and uneven lines, as you can see. Although Jessica's dress is slit on the wrong side, it faces out so we can get a good peek at all that leggyness. She's playfully sitting on top of a grand piano (with her ankles crossed - a lady reveals nothing!) and she's blowing a kiss. Her face seems to be pointed more toward the globe than Roger - but we'll get to that in a moment. Jessica's dress and gloves are painted in pearlized colors to give it extra dimension - and it works so well here.

This is a great little statue of Jessica, even if it was not part of the globe. She seems to be on the piano pretty secure - and the hand shes using to blow a kiss is a separate piece - which would hopefully keep any damage or breakage to a minimum.

Roger Rabbit is included on this snowglobe - as Disney appeared to be trying to give him more attention by sticking him alongside Jessica. Roger has a cheerful expression and is gazing up, more so at the globe. Roger's ears are in the shape of a heart, and all his paint colors are correct. There are some uneven paint lines on him too, but not as much as Jessica. Roger is playing the piano, and sitting on a little stool. The stool legs actually have one big piece at the bottom, so that he's not balancing on small stool legs - this makes the piece much more secure.

Roger's neck, tail and arms are very thin. They are probably the most fragile of the piece, but they don't seem flimsy. You'll want to take extra care though when taking this in and out of the styrofoam box and with general handling.

Starting with the extra features of this globe is that it actually lights up. It requires batteries (which were included when originally ordering) and there is a small switch on the bottom. Four small lights above the curtains give the piece an added touch and more worthy of display. However, we get to the biggest drawback of any snowglobe - you can see from the photo there is a bubble that has formed on the inside. The globes are all completely full when released but over time air seeps in, causing the unsightly bubble of doom. Disney tried to combat this by sometimes adding a small element on top of the bubble - like another character or some item that fits the theme of the piece.

The background and base has a modern, art-deco look to it - almost reminiscent of the Jessica's store colors in purple and blue. It's all in pearlized paint, except for the actual "floor."

Having this piece in the styrofoam for many years, I noticed something on the black piano. I'm not sure what caused this white residue on the piece, and if it's from the styrofoam or plastic bag the piece came in, but I was able to get pretty much all of it off by wiping it down with a cloth.

There is quite a bit of detail put into the piece. There are three flower vases around the stage, and upon close inspection you can see that each leaf and petal is sculpted perfectly. There is glitter in the dome, which you do have to shake to get the glitter to move around. In the last few years, Disney has added a blower device in many of the snowglobes - eliminating the need to shake it and also keeping the glitter always moving around in the dome. This piece does not have the blower device though. Inside the dome is an actual picture frame, allowing you to add a small photo so it appears as if it is inside.

The bottom of the base is where you need to unscrew to open it. What comes out is also the music box itself. Up inside you can see a slot for your photo. This is why it appears that Jessica and Roger and looking more at the dome than each other. When you put a photo in there, they will be looking at you! This is a great element to the piece, but also maybe a dangerous one. With the frame inside the dome, should any of the seal break away or degrade over time, then the solution in side will leak out. And contrary to what many people think, it's not water inside. There is a special solution in there to keep it clean and allow the glitter to flow better.

Not only does it have great character sculptures, light up, and act as a frame - the music box plays Jessica's theme song. Disney really tried to add value to this snowglobe, and it shows. This globe was designed by artist, Jennifer Oliver. In some of my other merchandise reviews you may remember she designed the first ever LE 100 Jessica Rabbit six-pin set from Disney Auctions in 2004, and several other pins. I've been attempting to get an interview with Miss Oliver for some time now, but so far no luck.

The Roger and Jessica Rabbit Snowglobe Frame gets a 4. The sculpting is well done, the colors and paint - even though there are some uneven lines. The bubble will form in the globe, which is annoying - but it's a piece worth picking up.

Answer:
Some girls aren’t bad they’re just drawn that way. Some are always drawn to apples, juicy delicious and dangerous apples.

So with this juicy bit of information I think we can assume the next two Premium Format figures will be Jessica Rabbit and Snow White. There is no news on when we can expect them, but the San Diego Comic Con is in July so hopfully there will be more news around that time. The Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format line is well known for it's attention to detail and high quality with characters from Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Marvel - so this could end up being possibly be one of the best Jessica Rabbit collectibles ever.

Trail Mix-UP

Trail Mix-Up was the third and final Roger Rabbit cartoon, released with Disney/Amblin's A Far Off Place on March 12, 1993. By now the relationship between Disney and Amblin had soured and the next short cartoon, Hare In My Soup, had been cancelled. The movie Trail Mix-Up was in front of, A Far Off Place, also does not seem very memorable to me - so this short I did not see in theaters. In Disney's MGM studios however, they did play this while you waited in line for the back lot tour.

The short starts out as usual: Roger Rabbit, Baby Herman and Mrs. Herman are at the park and Mrs. Herman decides to leave her baby in Roger's care. This short also features a lot more jokes by the animators. They even threw in a "hidden Jessica" into Roger's tail.

Jessica herself is brought in earlier than the other two films - and is dressed as a Park Ranger. While she is checking on Roger and Baby Herman's safety, Roger drools all over himself while getting an eyeful of Jessica.

We are treated to a stunning and bountiful closeup of Jessica, and her appearance here has much more of a presence than Tummy Trouble - while having more lines than in Rollercoaster Rabbit.

While Jessica walks back to her jeep, she states the famous Smokey the Bear line, "Remember, only YOU can prevent forest fires."

The rest of the cartoon is the usual insane chase after Baby Herman, this time landing Roger in the dangerous Saw Mill. Baby Herman follows a beaver inside (which he mistakes for a dog) and Roger attempts to rescue him. In one scene as Roger running on top of logs in the mill, he passes by a poster which reads "Rigid Tools" and has a picture of what looks like Jessica straddling a hand saw! The version is on the early VHS tapes, but was blurred out in the Special Edition DVD.

As Roger, Baby Herman and the beaver go sliding down the log flume, a bear is peacefully fishing and gets brought into the craziness. It ends with all four characters exploding out of the cartoon and into the real world - only to crash right into Mount Rushmore.

This was a great cartoon and it was nice to see Jessica with a bigger part. The live action segment did not really include interaction with people, and the landscape looked as if it were small scale models - but I think there was to be more focus on the characters in the next cartoons, and judging from the use of Jessica prominently in all three posters in spite of her small role I assume she would could have had more screen time as new cartoons were created.

All three shorts can be found on the Special Edition DVD released in 2003.

Rollercoaster Rabbit

The next short Roger Rabbit cartoon, Rollercoaster Rabbit, was released on June 15, 1990 in front of the movie version of Dick Tracy. Steven Spielberg originally wanted this short to appear in front of the Amblin Entertainment movie Arachnophobia, but at the insistence of then-CEO of Disney Michael Eisner, it was not. Disney later re-released Rollercoaster Rabbit in front of Toy Story in 1995 to take the place of the canceled Roger Rabbit short, Hare In My Soup. This may have been where all the problems began for the Roger Rabbit franchise, as Dick Tracy did not do well in theaters and may have angered Steven Spielberg that Michael Eisner insisted upon keeping the cartoon exclusively with a Disney feature movie.

This cartoon opens with Roger, Baby Herman and Mrs. Herman at a fair. Mrs. Herman leaves Roger again with Baby Herman and he soon wanders off in search of a red balloon.

Anxiously searching for Baby Herman in his empty carriage, Roger finds a Playtoon magazine and opens to the centerfold to find Jessica Rabbit - who gives him a wink.

Roger chases after Baby Herman and suffers all kinds of abuse. Once Roger gets to Baby Herman, they happen to be inadvertently stuck on a roller coaster. This cartoon roller coaster reaches impossible proportions, twisting and turning so much that watching it in the movie theater almost made it feel like you were on a motion simulated ride.

We see Jessica Rabbit helplessly tied to the coaster tracks - softly saying "Save me." As Roger and his car approach, he yells to her to repeat what she said. Jessica completely changes character and screams angrily, "SAVE ME!"

Roger reaches out his arms to scoop her up, but tips over the car. It begins to tumble and happens to bounce right over her.

As Jessica watches them continue on, she turns to Droopy Dog who dressed as a villain, exclaiming in his monotone voice, "Curses! Foiled again."

Roger and Baby Herman coast right off the track and right into the real world for the live action segment. Roger causes the film in the camera to come out and be destroyed. The director demands Roger film the scene again, to which he states to the bald director, "Not this hare,Q-ball." Roger runs off and we see a woman give Baby Herman his red balloon. Now out of his "baby" character and smoking a cigar - which he uses to pop the balloon and says, "Afraid of a little bang?" This no doubt earned the cartoon it's PG rating, unlike the other two which were rated G.

This cartoon was also included on the 2003 Special Edition DVD, but with no art gallery or information. According to IMDB.com, there was a cut scene with all of the classic Disney characters appearing in this film. There was also an idea for a gag between Droopy Dog and Jessica that was never used.
