Jessica Rabbit Merchandise Review #58 - Beaded Journal

Jessica Rabbit has had her image gracing a lot of merchandise - shirts, posters, mugs, and even journals. Disney Parks put an extra touch for this journal to give it a little more impact. Take a closer look at the Jessica Rabbit Beaded Journal.

This Jessica item is one of those what-you-see-is-what-you-get things that comes along pretty infrequently. When it comes to high end collectibles like statues - Jessica has that area covered with a wide selection. When looking for simple, everyday, household items - there aren't as many as there should be. This was the first Jessica Journal released several years ago and sold for $12 each. It was found only in Disneyland and Disney World park locations.

While the face design is slightly off, it's really stunning cover art. It's Jessica in all her glory, standing in the spotlight, in front of the blue Ink and Paint Club curtains. It's colorful and fun, with some extra embellishments added. The top of Jessica's dress is embedded with small beads. The beads themselves seem to be clear, with the middle hole being silver. The pink from the top of her dress shows through the beads, adding an extra dimension to the dress. I'm not sure why they didn't do the whole dress like this. Only having the top portion of dress done this way gives it an odd look, but it's still fairly nice.

The inside cover of the journal has a blue curtain effect, and the ruled pages all have the same image of Jessica inside, colored in pink. The very back cover and spine of the book are also a neon pink. For a one off, small item to pick up at the Disney Parks, it's great. There needed to be more small priced items like this, and there still needs to be. It's item like this that are meant to be used and not only for display. The journal can sometimes be found on eBay, but are becoming more rare as the years go on.

The Jessica Rabbit Beaded Journal gets a 4. It's a plain and simple item. The art is good, it's something you can use, and if you are a Jessica fan it won't cost much to get your hands on one today. The whole dress could have benefited being completely beaded, rather than just the top portion.
